InDead RailsonRoblox, nighttime is extremely dangerous, especially if you aren’t within the confines of the checkpoint walls. Each night, an event happens where certain dangers appear, which you need to be ready to deal with.
The game revolves around this mechanic, encouraging you to complete all your business during the day, and then spend the night either at a checkpoint or on a train that’s going full-speed towards a checkpoint. You’re bound to find yourself outside on a night at some point though, so here are all the different night events that can happen and how to survive their threats.
The Day And Night Cycle
Inside the train, there is a digital clockwhich shows you the current time.6:00 AMis when a day starts, and it lastsuntil 9:00 PM, which converts to about five minutes in real time. When it hits 9:00 PM, the sun quickly moves down and nighttime begins, which is when enemies may spawn around the train.
Each night,one offour different eventsispicked at random. you may tell which event is taking place by thechanges in the night sky, or by the enemies that spawn around. The four events are:
What You Should Do Every Night, Regardless Of Events
The best place to spend the night isinside a checkpoint. Here, wall-mounted turrets will keep you safe even if enemies spawn inside the walls of the checkpoint, and you can then easilypick up the corpses andsell them or use them as fuelfor the train.
However, if you’re out in the open, there are some factors to take into account, such as your fuel. If you’re confident that you canmake it to the next checkpoint with the amount of fuel you have, and you aren’t looking to fight off the enemies for their corpses, then go full-speed ahead towards the checkpoint, asthe enemies caught in front of the train will be killed by it, and the enemies behind won’t be able to catch up.
Keep track of the current timeif you’re about to enter a town. During the night, the worst place to be is inside a zombie-infested town, as you’d need to barricade yourself in a house to survive. If it’s too late to enter a town, you’re able to always come back to it on horseback.
With that out of the way, the below strategies assumeyou’re out in the open and can’t move your train any further.
Stormy Night
The stormy night isthe safest out of the four, asno enemies spawnaround you. Instead, the sky gets cloudy with a blue-greenish tint, and it begins to rain.
The main threat comesin the form of lightning, as it can kill a player with full health if it strikes them. Lightning tends to strikebuildings and objects, as well as the train, in which case you have a chance of being struck by it as well if you’re in the vicinity.
This can be countered if youget a lightning rod that attracts lightning strikesand denies any damage they would do, or if you have the Priest class, which makes you immune to lightning.
Cloudy Night
This is a standard night event, wherethe sky gets cloudy without rainfall. During a cloudy night,runner zombies spawnaround the train frequently. They’re fast, but otherwise weak individually — that said, their strength comes from numbers, as a horde of these can overwhelm you very quickly.
If you’re stranded in the desert during one of these,climb to the top of your train and keep watch. Your objective now is to ensure that you don’t get overwhelmed, so pick the zombies off as they spawn, as this is their only advantage over you.
A rifle is a great gun to have in this situation, but if you’ve got a shotgun and can’t see enemies, you can also stand in front of the stopped train. The light from it will let you see incoming enemies more easily.
Full Moon
A full moon night isthe most dangerous night to be outside on, as werewolves spawn around the train. This night starts with all the clouds disappearing, and the full moon being the only thing visible in the sky.
Werewolves are the toughest enemies in the game, apart from the final boss. They are fast, strike hard, and have tons of health.
If you’re stranded out in the open with these enemies around you, your best option is tolook for theirred-glowing eyes in the dark. Sniping them with a rifle is great while they’re still far away, and once they’re closer, you’re able to swap to your shotgun to finish them off.
Once daylight hits, you should pick up their corpses and weld them onto the train, aseach corpse can be sold for $20at the trading post in checkpoints.
Blood Moon
The unique night event of the roster, the Blood Moon, features a beautiful bright red sky and moon whichmakes it easier to spot enemies at night.During the event,vampires spawn around the train.
Vampires are relatively slow, but they havea ton of health anda unique ability to teleport to the player.This means that you want to be out in the open when this happens, as being in a walled-off building during the event nearly guarantees your demise.
Once they teleport behind you, you only have a few seconds to react, so ensure you’re somewhere where you can see them easily.
