The large and expansive world ofAssassin’s Creed Shadowshas hundreds of collectibles as well as dozens of side quests to complete. As you complete regions of the map, you’ll regularly discover locals that are being harassed by enemies and this is the central theme of the Accursed Arquebuses side quest.

Arquebuses are enemies that wieldTeppos, an uncommon weapon in the 16th century Japanese setting of AC Shadows. Here’s how to start the Accursed Arquebuses side quest, and where to find and defeat these gun-toting guards to complete the mission.

How To Start Accursed Arquebuses

Accursed Arquebuses can be started by either Naoe or Yasuke. To begin the side quest, you’ll need to head to Kameyama, which is located inthe south of the Tambe Region.The quest is given by an elderly man, who is complaining about the bandits in the area tormenting peasants with the rifles they’vecommandeeredfrom the Portguguese.

You agree to help and to complete the quest, you’ll need to kill a total of 100 Teppo-wielding enemies. This quest can be tracked in the “People of Tamba” objective board within the pause menu. The quest is broken up into three sections, with rewards given for killing 25, 50 and 100 teppo-using enemies.

Tamba Teppo Locations

Killing any enemies that are using Teppo guns will count towards this quest’s tally, but only within the region of Tamba. So, be sure to stay within the borders of this area to make progress.

Frustratingly, there aren’t that many areas that have Teppo enemies, as they aren’t too common. However, the best locations are the ones where you’d normally find a large number of enemies, as the law of averages makes finding gun-wielding enemies higher. In the Tambe region, these are limited toTemples, Castles and a pirate ship.Three locations fall into this category.

Clear these areas of enemies, and keep checking back every time the seasons change. All of them have viewpoints, so be sure tocomplete the viewpoint to make fast traveling easierbetween them.

How To Complete Accursed Arquebuses

After you’ve completed all three objectives for Accursed Arquebuses, return to theElder Noblefor some extra rewards on top of the ones you’ve already earned. Explain that the teppo-using bandits will no longer be a problem and he’ll thank you for your efforts. He’ll put his money where his mouth is too and keep his end of the bargain byrewarding you with Gold and 2,000 Mon.
