Part of the progression inRunescape: Dragonwildsis discovering new materials and making new crafting stations. You’ll start with stone tools but will work up to bronze and even iron ones that can harvest faster and more efficiently. Not only that, but some materials are locked behind different crafting stations.
One of those materials is the Ash Plank, which is used for multiple recipes in the game, from crafting new stations to building up your base. The game doesn’t tell you how to craft them initially; you’ll need to discover them by activating a specific crafting station.
How To Unlock The Sawmill
To get Ash Planks, you’ll need to unlock and build a Sawmill. To unlock the Sawmill recipe, you’ll need tocraft or pick up Bronze Bars. Picking them up will automatically unlock the crafting recipe for the Sawmill as well as more crafting stations.
Unlike some crafting stations, the Sawmill doesn’t need to be inside a building for it to work. It also doesn’t use any fuel, unlike furnaces or campfires.

How To Craft Bronze Bars
Bronze Bars can be crafted by using a furnaceand throwing in somecopperandtinore along with some fuel. These ores can befound in the Fractured Plainspast the Whispering Swamp. You willneed a Bone Pickaxeto gather these nodes.
How To Craft Ash Logs
Once you’ve built a sawmill, you’ll want toplace Ash Logs inside of it and then craft Ash Planks. Each log will give you two planks, and they stack up to 50 pieces. They’re light, so you can lug around a lot of them if you’re planning on building a base.
Ash Planks areneeded to craft mid-game crafting stationslike the loom, which you’ll need to make materials for iron armor. It’s also used tobuild tier two base pieceslike floors and walls that look better than tier one. They are also used to build furniture like chairs and tables to spice up your base.
