What Do You Use Resources For?
It’s not untila few days into your timeat the Last Defense Academy - likely when you go to upgrade someone’s Class Weapon for the first time using the machine up in the Training Room - you’ll find that you needfive types of resourcesto do various things throughout the game. Takumi doesn’t really have much when you start off, but that just means you’ll need tobe diligent across the next 100 daysin keeping your eyes out for some.
These resources have two primary uses, each one just as important as the other. You’ll use your five resources to:

How To Find More Resources
Should you begin to run low on your resources, the best bet will always be tohead out on expeditions beyond the Undying Flames, playing the board game out beyond the school’s grounds in pursuit of resources of all kinds. The spaces are labeled with the icon for the resource they provide, with tougher challenges offering higher rewards in exchange for riskier decisions. Decide where to land based on the resources you need, and the difficulty you feel comfortable dealing with.
At any point, you may check how many resources you’ve got on hand by pausing the game - even while actively searching for more materials. It’s never a bad idea to keep some on you, since you never know exactly when you’ll need to use them during your Free Time segments, and it’s always best not to waste Free Time that could be better spent practicing for combat or hanging out with your friends.

You’ll be using far more of them than you imagine you will, especially when it comes to Battle Points, since those are often required in the Gift-o-Matic on top of a small handful of materials.
