How To Start The Defense Of Bruma Quest

You can start the Defense of Bruma quest aftercompleting the Miscarcand quest. After receiving the Great Welkynd Stone, Martin will inform you that you also need to find a Great Sigil Stone, and for that, it is necessary tolet the Mythic Dawn open the Great Gate of Oblivion outside Bruma.

Martin will then ask you to convince the Countess of Bruma and tell her tomeet with Martin at the Great Chapel of Talosinside the city. To make things worse, Martin plans to lead the battle himself and is willing to hold the frontline until you retrieve the Great Sigil Stone.

The Countess will immediately leave for the Great Chapel of Talos, where Martin will be waiting for her. Now, you’ll also have to go to the Great Chapel, and there, you’ll have tolet the Countess know that you’re ready to begin the battle.

The Allies of Bruma optional quest runs alongside the Defense of Bruma, and if you ask the Countess to begin the battle, it will end the Allies of Bruma quest, even if you haven’t asked any other cities or counties for help.

If you head over to each city and ask for help, and then return to the Countess to start the battle of Bruma, then those soldiers will show up on the battlefield and will help you fend off the Daedra forces. However, if you don’t ask for help, Bruma Miltia will take their place on the battlefield, who are poor fighters and may not be much help during the great battle.

After you tell the Countess that you’re ready to begin the battle, Martin will then march from the Chapel to the Oblivion Gate outside Bruma. He’ll deliver a short speechbefore the Daedra starts to pour out from the lesser gates.

Here, you have to hold your ground until the Great Gate opens. The soldiers or the militia will fight alongside you and Martin. Make sure youdon’t waste many resources here, because your real fight starts when the Great Gate opens.

Conquering The Great Gate

As you enter the Great Gate, there’s a door leading to one of the towers in this Oblivion Plain. You can head inside andmake your way to the top of this tower, and use the door on the top floor to open a path leading to another tower.

Be wary of the Siege Engine as you’re walking on the narrow bridge leading to the other towers, because it can knock you off the bridge, causing you to fall to the ground and die.

As you enter the second tower, look for another door on the same floor.Use that door to make your way to the third tower. Now, once you’re inside the third tower, you have to go downstairs and use the door there to come out in the open. You’ll see the Siege Engine crawling on your right as you progress ahead.

There’s a gap in the bridge. Jump over it and fight against the Daedra. At the end of the road, you’ll find that the path to the Sigil Stone tower is blocked by a locked gate, which is in front ofanother tower.

Head inside the World Breaker Guard tower, and you’ll findthe switch to open the gateon the top floor. Once you’ve done that, come down again andhead straight to the Sigil Tower.

Throughout your journey through this Oblivion Plain, the game will periodically show you how much time you’ve left till the Siege Engine finally makes it out of the Great Gate in the top-right corner of the screen.

After you enter the Sigil Tower, you’ll find theSigil Keeper Daedra on the first floor, which you’ll have to fight against to get the Sigil Key. After that, keep making your way up until you end up in the Great Sigil Stone’s chamber.

You don’t have to defeat all the enemies here; your top priority is to get the Great Sigil Stone, and once you retrieve that, all other Daedra will automatically vanish. After you’ve taken the Great Sigil Stone, the Great Gate will close, and you’ll appear outside it.

Martin will celebrate the victory and ask you to come to the Cloud Ruler Temple’s Great Hall, so he canopen the portal to Camoran’s Paradise. Martin will also warn you that once he opens the portal, it will automatically close once you head inside it, so you have tomake all the preparations before you enter it.
