This effect cloaks your character by a certain value, making you harder to detect. It’s a fantastic magical effect for stealth characters, but with the right build, it’s possible to hit 100%Chameleonto effectively turn completely invisible. Rob stores blind, run past enemies without drawing their attention, and attack from a distance without ever being spotted. It’s an absurdly strong effect if you can get it to 100, so let’s go over how to make this a reality without much investment.
How To Get 100%Chameleon
Achieving aChameleonvalue of 100% will require you touse multiple sources ofChameleon, including enchanted items and spells.If you don’t want to rely on spells, you’ll needa total of 100%Chameleonacross all of your equipped items.Optimally, this would be five pieces of 20% Chamelon gear, but you can have up to eight pieces of 14%Chameleon.
Enchanting Items
Once you’ve gain access to anEnchanting Table, you may imbue your armor and jewelry with magical properties that are typically found in spells.If you own anyChameleonIllusion spell, you’ll be able to enchant your items with theChameleonproperty.
The magnitude of theChameleonbuff is determined by the strength of souls trapped in your Soul Gems. Tougher enemies grant stronger souls which results in better enchantments.You’ll need Grand Souls for five items or Common Souls for eight to reach 100%Chameleon.you’re able to trap grand souls in either Grand of Black Soul Gems; common souls fit in Common Soul Gems and higher.
Sigil Stones
Sigil Stones found in Oblivion can roll withChameleonas a modifier. These tend to be stronger than standard enchanting, offering up to 30%Chameleonbased on the stone’s rank. Put these on your armor if you have any to spare.
After you’ve enchanted the items, simply put on your newly-enchanted apparel. NPCs will now ignore your presence entirely, only interacting with you if a scripted sequence forces them to. You can still be arrested at 100%Chameleon, so be careful when patrolling cities with a bounty on your head.
ChameleonItems
Some items in Oblivion come with aChameleonenchantment already instilled, usually with a higher stat value than what’s possible through standard enchanting. There are three items withChameleonyou can find.
For items with stat ranges, the stat magnitude is dependent on your character’s level. For example, the Ring of Lordship drops its highest stats at Level 32.

Spells And Potions
you may easily hit 100%Chameleonif you’re willing to not have it up permanently.Chameleoncan be added to your character temporarily throughplayer spells and crafted potions.Stat magnitudes from both sources will depend on your character level, skill values, and resources.
For spells, you cancreate a 100% Chameleon spellstarting at 75 Illusion, although the Magicka cost becomes extreme if you push its duration past 15 seconds. you’re able to use this to quickly steal items from a target or drop enemy aggro. You can also create a spell with a lowerChameleonmodifier that lasts upwards of two minutes.
Potions function similarly. With Master-tier alchemy equipment, you can create 40%Chameleonpotions that last just over two minutes. If you don’t want to have permanent 100%Chameleonuptime, this is a great option.
