When you first enter the mainland ofRunescape: Dragonwild, your map will be covered in fog, and it slowly unlocks as you enter each region for the first time. However, you can tell how big the map is just by looking at the foggy version, which makes it nearly impossible to normally go from one place to another.
Thankfully, the game has quite a forgiving fast travel system where you’re not restricted to being able to teleport to certain locations. You can make your own fast travel location using Lodestone, which makes the map very accessible as you progress further in the story.
Runescape: Dragonwilds is currently in Early Access, and all its content is subject to change.
How To Unlock Fast Travel In Runescape: Dragonwilds
Unlike most Survival Crafting games, Runescape doesn’t have dedicated fast travel portals that you can activate when you reach a certain location on the map. Instead, for this game, you have tocreate your own fast travel portals by unlocking the Lodestone recipe, which happens once you get your hands on some Vault Core.
When you have the Lodestone unlocked, you candirectly build it from the first tab of the build menu under the fast travel items. You’llneed the following items to buildeach Lodestone:
Thefirst Lodestone you make should be placed at your basesince that’s where you’ll likely teleport the most to. After that, whenever you head out to explore, it’s recommended to have the materials for one more Lodestone in your inventory so that you can place it if you’reabout to get knocked outor if your inventory is full.
Once placed, you can interact with the Lodestone, which opens up the map and shows you the location of all Lodestones you’ve placed. You can teleport to any of the locations at the cost of some Law Runes. You can get these runes by defeating enemies or bycrafting them at the Rune Altar after reaching level 16 in Runecrafting.
How To Get Vault Core
Vault Core is the most crucial item required to create Lodestones, and also the ones that run out the fastest. To get your hands on these items, you’ll have tochallenge various vaults you can find across the map, with one in each region. The closest vault can be found to the southwest of the village where you meet the old man who gives you the main quest.
In these vaults, you can get up to three pedestals with a Vault core on them. Thankfully, these items do respawn very quickly, and the first vault in Temple Woods is the easiest way to get them again. Once you beat this vault, you can simply backtrack your path and easily get all three cores again within a minute.
