The world inKoirais full of animals, and you often need to help them out to progress. That’s on top of the dog who’s your companion from the game’s early moments. Partway into the game, you meet a boar that you need to help.
He’s been trapped in a cage by the hunters who are stalking you in the area, and you need to get a key to open the lock and let him out. It’s clear where the key is, hanging clearly from a tree nearby, but it’s unclear what you need to do to get it down and open the cage.
How To Get The Cage Key
It may be obvious, but you need to get the key to open up the cage. First of all,head to the right of the boar’s cage and press X if you’re on PlayStation or A on Xbox to grab a snowball.
Then, head over to the fence in front of the tree with the key hanging from it andhold X/A to start throwing the snowball. Move your thumbstick so that the cursor is over the key and a white box appears around it. Let go of X/A to throw it.
Once the key has fallenoff the tree and is on the ground,press X/A to have your dog go to the key and pick it up. He’ll come back through the tree stump tunnel and bring it back to you. You can then use it tolet the boar out of the cage by interacting with the lockon the right side of it.
You can press X/A to send your dog to the bottom of the tree before the key drops, but he won’t be able to do anything.
You will need to use your right stick to guide the key into the lock by holding left. The lock will then pop off and the boar will come out.
