There are a lot of powerful weapons that you can get inThe Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remake. The thing is, most of them are either locked behind levels like leveled loot or RNG. Some weapons are guaranteed you can get like the ones from quests, specifically Daedric quests.
One of the strongest swords you can get in the game is the Daedric weaponGoldbrand. On top of great baseline stats, it also has a fire enchantment that adds to that, making it a great weapon to have for melee-focused characters. All you need to do is complete a Daedric quest to get it.
How To Start The Boethia Quest
The Bothia Daedric quest is one of the more difficult quests in the game due to its high level requirements. To start this quest, you’ll need to beat least level 20. You will also need to have anoffering of aDaedra Heartfor the Daedric Prince to even speak to you.
How To Get ADaedra Heart
There are many ways you may get Daedra hearts in the game; the simplest way is tofight and loot Dremora or Xivilai, which are leveled enemies in Oblivion gates.
If you don’t want to go inside an Oblivion gate, there are some guaranteed spawns around the map. One of the easiest ones to get is inside one of thedisplay cases in the Anvil Fighter’s Guild Company Offices. You can also buy them from Alchemy stores in towns and in Mages Guilds.
Where To Find The Shrine Of Boethia
Boethia’s Shrine is located in the mountainssoutheast of Cheydinhaland is to the west of the ‘M’ in ‘The Valous Mountains.’ You will need to go up the mountains to find the shrine.
How To Complete The Boethia Quest
Once you have all the prerequisites, you’ll want to interact with Boethia’s Shrine. She will tell you to prove yourself as her chosen.A portal will appear near the Shrinethat will send you to her plane in Oblivion.
When you enter the plane of Oblivion, you won’t be able to leave. Be prepared to fight multiple enemies, bring potions and repair hammers, and repair the gear you’re wearing.
When you enter the Oblivion gate, you will be sent to a doughnut-shaped island in the Oblivion plane. Boethia instructs you togo through the gate on the right. Thereyou’ll fight the chosen; there are atotal of nine Boethia’s Chosen, one for each race except for your own, since you’re the representative.
Here are all of Boethia’s Chosen and what to expect from them.All of them will have leveled gear, meaning the material of their gear depends on your level:
Mace or axe
Breton
Greater staff and a mace or axe that is possibly enchanted
Claymore, possibly enchanted
Dunmer
Enchanted Bow and an axe or mace that is possibly enchanted
Staff and axe or mace
Axe or mace, possibly enchanted
Light armor with ashield
Long blade, possibly enchanted
Heavy armor with ashield
Two-handed weapon, possibly enchanted
Enchanted bow with axe or mace
Light Armor
The fights are straightforward one-on-one battles between you and the chosen. Keep an eye out for them using their poisons, especially the paralysis ones. If you want to exploit the AI, you may bait them to go into the lava areas of the map to die; it won’t affect the quest.
A lot of Boethia’s Chosen will have potions of healing and will likely use them during fights. Remember to bring your own before going into the portal. They will also have potions of illness that damage health, so always keep an eye on your health bar.
How To GetGoldbrand
Once you’vedefeated all of Boethia’s Chosen, a portal will appear where you started that will send you back to the mortal plane. When you get back to the shrine, interact with it again tocomplete Boethia’s quest.
Boethia will thenreward you withGoldbrand, a one-handed katana that has an on-hit enchantment that deals 22 points of fire damage. This is a great weapon for melee characters since the weapon is fast, and the fire damage can quickly add up.
