Dead Railsis currently one of the most popular games onRoblox, and it has surprised the community with its latest updates. The game continues to expand with fresh content, powerful weapons, formidable enemies, and a growing number of innovative mechanics.
The two newest weapons added are the Strange Mask and the Jade Sword. Both are powerful items with unique mechanics that allow you to revive fallen enemies to fight by your side. you’re able to find these weapons in two new landmark locations recently added to the game: the ghost town of Sterling in the middle of the desert and the abandoned mine behind it.
How To Find Sterling
To find Sterling,ride along the main tracks. The town can spawn at various distances along the route. Unlike classical towns,Sterling is located slightly farther from the tracks, but it can still be spotted from the train. You’ll recognize it by itsrundown buildingsnext to aprominent mountain. Inside, you’ll find an abandoned church and several structures with the game’s signature aesthetic.
Each of these abandoned buildingsmay contain treasury bonds, which are used to purchase classes with special abilities or weapons in the Dead Rails lobby before a run.
How To Enter Sterling’s Abandoned Mine
Once you’ve found Sterling,head behind the churchto locate the entrance to the abandoned mine. You’ll seetwo wooden boards blocking the path.To get through, you’ll need to placedynamite.
It’s recommended tobring dynamite and torchesbeforehand. While you can find atorch inside the sheriff’s buildingin Sterling anddynamite near the mine entrance, it’s best to be prepared. You’ll need explosives fortwo destructible wallsin order to proceed.

There are no enemies in Sterling itself, but the abandoned mine is a different story. Inside,you’ll encounter three distinct enemy types:
How To Get The Strange Mask
To obtain the Strange Mask, you’ll need toreach the end of the mine, where you’ll find anotherlocked door. Inside, you’ll discover asmall shrine containing gold bars, silver, a jade tablet, and the mask itself.
The Strange Maskcannot be equipped, you’ll need to carry it by hand or place it inside your sack. Once you pick up the mask,a trap mechanism will be triggered, spawning three werewolves inside the mine.These enemies can be a real threat if you’re not properly armed or low on ammo.
How Strange Mask Works
The Strange Mask is a powerful item in the game.It allows you to revive fallen enemies you’ve defeated throughout your run, making it easier to clear and loot dangerous areas like the town, the castle, the fort, or even the final bandit base.
To use the mask, simplybring it close to a defeated enemy’s body. Once it touches their face,a lightning bolt will strike and revive the enemy, turning them into an ally that fights for you. These revived enemies behave normally, attacking the nearest mob. If you stay behind them,they can act as a “tank” while you focus on dealing damagefrom a safe distance.
How To Get The Jade Sword
There’sanother secret weapon hidden in the mine, which you might miss unless you follow a specific set of steps. These will lead you to ahidden room full of treasure, including gold and silver bars, treasury bonds, and apowerful weapon known as the Jade Sword.
Where To Find The First Jade Tablet
To obtain the Jade Sword,you’ll need to find three Jade Tabletsand bring them to ahidden room deep inside the mine. The first tablet can be found in Sterling,inside the abandoned church. You’ll see it lying on the ground behind the gallows.
Where To Find The Second Jade Tablet
The second tablet is found entering the mine, behind a wagon. To reach it easily,go all the way left from the mine’s entrance. Follow the hallway until it forks to the right, and keep going down the increasingly narrow path until you see anoverturned minecart on the ground. The tablet is behind it.
Where To Find The Third Jade Tablet
The third tablet can be foundinside the Strange Mask room, right next to the loot where the mask is located.
You’ll now need to find ahidden passage.
How To Activate The Jade Tablet Mechanism
Inside the hidden room, you’ll find ared platform with one Jade Tablet already placed on it. You need to place thethree additional tablets on the platformto activate the secret mechanism. Once activated,the wall behind the platform will open, revealing a treasure stash of silver, gold, bonds, and the powerfulJade Sword.
How The Jade Sword Works
The Jade Sword is amelee weapon with a glowing green blade, a golden hilt, and a ceremonial aesthetic that feels straight out of an ancient legend. Near the base of the blade, you’ll find a subtle snake engraving, giving the weapon a mystical and almost cursed vibe, perfectly fitting the eerie tone of Dead Rails.
What truly makes this sword special isn’t just its looks, but its uniquepassive ability. Every time you defeat an enemy using the Jade Sword,there’s a 50% chance that their corpse will be brought back to life as an ally. These revived minions will immediately engage nearby threats, acting as distractions or even front-line tanks while you clean up the rest of the enemies.
If you’re also carrying the Strange Mask, things get even better.The two items combined allow you to raise an entire army of fallen enemies, turning the tide in your favor and making some of the most dangerous areas, like the Fort or Bandit Base, much easier to clear.
However, be aware that the Jade Sword onlydeals 30 damage, just 10 more than the basic shovel.It’s not a primary weapon, it’s afinisher. Use guns to lower enemy health, thenswitch to the sword to land the killing blow and trigger the resurrection effect.
