To do this, you’re given two things:Hermaeus Mora’s Soul Gem and Mora’s Soul Trap, the latter of which is a unique version of the standard spell and isthe only method that will work for capturing souls for this quest.

You cannot make progress in this quest without using Mora’s Soul Trap spell.

Returning To The Shrines

Once you’ve received your quest, you might be perplexed by where to start, butyou’ve already found the ideal locations to Soul Trap every racein the game without disrupting things in the cities.

There are two easy ways to capture souls for the Hermaeus Mora quest:

Just don’t kill Olyn Seran, who is the Master Conjuration teacher found at Molag Bal’s shrine.

These Daedric followers are random characters without any usenow that you’ve already completed every single Daedric Prince’s quest in the game, leaving these NPCs as excellent sacrifices for your task. We’ll be following this method, as it’s generally the easiest if you want to finish the quest ASAP.

Other quests that require you to kill people, such asthe Dark Brotherhood questlineor the Arena, are also excellent places to find enemies of various kinds without killing innocents.

To start things off, equip Mora’s Soul Trapand head toMalacath’s Shrine first.

Kill one of the Orcs here after you use Mora’s Soul Trap, and you’ll be on the way to completing this quest.

If you don’t want to deal with an all-out brawl at each shrine, you can sneak attack your target immediately after Soul Trapping them for a quick kill that can avoid triggering combat if you defeat your target in one powerful hit.

After Malacath’s Shrine, your options are open, but you should head toMeridia’s Shrine next for your Imperial, Breton, and Redguard soulsat one convenient location.

After you’ve gotten the first four races taken care of, go toSanguine’s Shrine to capture the soul of a Khajiit;you’re halfway done now.

The next stop on your cross-Cyrodiil murder spree should beClavicus Vile’s Shrine, where you’re able to claim the soul of aBosmer.

Sheogorath’s Shrine is the next and final stopon your hit list, as here you’ll find anArgonian, Altmer, Nord, and Dunmerto bring your kill count up to ten – you’ve got them all.
