You might have noticed a certain high-tech vehicle in the promotional marketing forAtelier Yumia: a motorcycle. A very spiffy-looking motorcycle, in fact, and it can make traveling the continent a breeze (so long as you can get the hang of its overly tight control scheme, at least).

But how long does it take before that motorcycle is yours for the riding? And what needs to be done in order to receive it? We’ve got that covered right here. We’ll also go into greater depth on the vehicle itself - which is called the Procella in-game - and why it’s a bit more than meets the eye.

The Procella in Atelier Yumia

How To Get The Procella

Before you can so much as witness the game’s first hint that a pair of tech-savvy wheels will soon be yours, you mustadvance Atelier Yumia’s story until a bit into the events in the Sivash Region. It won’t be long until you reach thevillagehere, and that’s where this all begins.

Get through the bevy of cutscenes here introducing several characters. You’ll know you’re almost where you need to be whenthe game opens up to allow you to complete multiple objectives related to helping the folks who live in the town.

Riding the Procella in Atelier Yumia

You can do these quests in any order you like, butif you want the Procella as soon as possible, speak with the gentleman who could use your help with the pile of junk.

Go ahead and accept; you’re going to be sentdeep into a Manabound Area, the first of several you’ll need to tackle in Sivash. Your goal is to reachthe ruins of an academy.

One way or another, you’ll need to make the hike, butwhile you’re there, locate the junk partthat Yumia requiresin order to fix the mysterious machine. These will bemarked on your map- well, more or less - here at the academy.

Synthesis Ex Machina

This is an Atelier game, so before you may hop aboard that sweet new ride, you’ll need tosynthesize the necessary parts. Either head to theatelier in Lignatusorany base you’ve added an altar toso that you can complete the synthesis procedure.

It’s possible to progress the story a bitpastall this, and leave the parts unsynthesized and your Procella reward lagging behind, if you don’t create the device. Put another way, just don’t put it off for too longif that happens!

Return to the village with the synthesized part, and when you reach theobjective marked on your map related to this quest,a cutscene (a rather entertaining one, in fact) will play. Congrats, the Procella is all yours!

Using The Procella

As you’ll quickly notice, the scene with Yumia’s struggles to control the motorcycle isn’tquiteso exaggerated as it may have appeared. There’s no two ways about it:It takes time to get used to the Procella’s controls. They’re a bit… well, tanky.

Take it slow, drive in open areas as much as possible, and remember toavoid enemies whenever possible, as fights will commence if you should bump into them(or vice versa).

The nifty thing about all this, though, is thatyou can upgrade the Procella to perform boostswhich send its speed through the roof. Do so atShrines of Prayerhere in the Sivash Region; it’s thecenter selectionwhen spending Prisms after reactivating the Shrines.

In our experience, there are places that are great for the cycle, and there are also plenty of places that just aren’t worth trying in. If you’re in a more enclosed space, stick to running! If it’s a nice, wide, portion of the overworld? Procella’s a fantastic time-saver.
