Bleach Rebirth of Soulshosts a plethora of characters that can accommodate all sorts of unique archetypes and playstyles. Among them, Kisuke Urahara is the classic definition of a high-risk, high-reward fighter; his attacks are swift, powerful, and have incredible range, but the one thing holding them back is how easily they’re punishable if they miss their target.
When playing as Kisuke, you need to go the extra mile and consider all the possibilities and potential consequences when pressing a button. Fortunately, you won’t need to overwhelm yourself, since his attacks are fairly basic, and the lack of extra gauges or resources means you only have to learn the core mechanics. Thus, if you’re good at calculating risks, this might be the character for you.

Kisuke Urahara In Offline And Online Matches
Kisuke’s strength liesin his control at medium range. The Heavy Byakurai and Kamisori Benihime are excellent zoning tools that keep opponents at bay. Still, if they get too close, you can unleash your Signature Move to counterclose-range attacks and transition into a combo. The counter’s free, too, but it’s still vulnerable to Breaker moves.
The real magic, however, happens when Kisukeenters his enhanced phase with “Are You Prepared?”, his second Spiritual Pressure Move. Your Quick and Flash Attack strings now gain different animations that assist longer combos, but the main highlight here is thatyour attacks and dashes have lower recovery.

Upon using the second Spiritual Pressure Move, its blue bar will appear atop your Spiritual Power Gauge corresponding to the move’s lifespan.
In this phase, you can chain two Kamisori Benihime attacksback to back, using them as a combo starter or combo extension. In fact, if you follow up the Benhime with a small dash (with or without “Are You Prepared?"), you can lead into a full combo that typically exceeds 30 hits. The higher hit count also meansyou can reach Awakening far quicker.

With the cards laid out, the game plan with Kisuke is fairly simple:try to activate and stay enhanced as long as possible, and use your Kamisori Benihime exclusively in this phase for a better damage payoff.
Using the two Kamisori Benihime at the start of a combo to negate any damage scaling and deal a whopping 4,000 damage!

Blood Shield
Triggers Blood Shield to receive an attack. Taking a close-range attack transitions intoa counter. Taking a long-range attack while “Are You Prepared?” is active will launcha counter slash.
(While Sublimation is active) Hold RT/R2
Destroys 5 Konpaku.
Awakened Kisuke Urahara In Offline And Online Matches
Kisuke’s Awakened state isalmost identical to his normal state, excluding the obvious buffs you get from the transformation — increased damage, higher Spiritual Power Gauge buildup, and stronger Kikon Moves.
The only change to his kit on paper is the new Blood Shield, which hasa larger active window than the old counter. Unfortunately, the upgrade is so minuscule that it doesn’t add anything significant. As such, the strategy in his normal state is just as effective here, but it’s worth mentioning thatthe damage boost means it’s easier to trigger Soul Breakwith the consecutive Kamisori Benihime strikes.
Landing a Kikon Move during Soul Break allows you to destroy an extra Konpaku.
Another thing to note is thathis second Spiritual Pressure Move has slightly improved recovery timesduring Awakening. If you’re quick enough, you can end a Flash Step combo with a Kamisori Benihime to squeeze out some extra damage. However, it’s incredibly risky, and you canwaste 50 Spiritual Power if you’re not frame-perfect.
