There are plenty of animals you can raise on your ranch inRanch Simulator, and each can bring in profit. However, every animal has its own unique needs, and if you overlook these details, you might end up facing disaster — like losing livestock. Thanks to their fast breeding rate, pigs are one of the best livestock investments you can make early.
With pigs, you can process meat and turn it into valuable meat products, allowing you to make a fortune. That’s why the sooner you buy pigs, the better your chances of building a successful ranch. In this guide, we’ve gathered everything you need to know to get started the right way.

Where To Buy Pigs
you’re able to purchase pigs from the General Storefor 300 dollarseach, and there are both male and female pigs available. If your goal is to breed them, you’ll need at least one of each. To transport them from the General Store to your ranch, you can use the UTVyou receive at the start of the game —it can carry two pigs at once.
How To Keep Pigs
Once you’ve brought your pigs to the ranch, the next step is to house them. If you’re still in the early game, you may temporarily keep them in the garageor the old wooden building next to the garage to save materials. Otherwise, you can build a proper barn or create a cheaper enclosure using wooden fences.
After settling the pigs, you’ll need to make sure they have access to food and water.Build a food trough and a water bowlwhere you keep the pigs. Each of these requires 16 wood planks to build.

However, if you place these inside a fenced enclosure, be very careful about their placement — if they’re placed near the fence edges, pigs might climb on top of them and escape over the fence. To prevent this, the best approach is placing the food and water containers in the center of the pen.
How Breeding Works
When you keep a male and female pig together, the female will become pregnant in no time. You candistinguish female pigs by looking at their underside, where you’ll see teats. Once pregnant, you’ll alsonotice a pacifier icon next to the pig’s health barwhen you approach her.
After three to five days, the female pig will give birth, usually to three or four piglets. The mother will feed the piglets for a while, but soon they will be able to eat on their own.

One important thing to know about pigs is that they breed incredibly fast over time.If you don’t manage their population, they can overcrowd their pen, frequently escape, or even cause performance issues (lag). To avoid this, the best strategy is toseparate males and females once you have enough pigs. This allows you to control breeding.
When you want more piglets, simply place a female in with the males. Once she’s pregnant, move her back with the other females. As for the piglets, you can sort them into gender-separated pens once they mature.

Pig Growth Stages
Another thing to note is pig growth. Over time, your pigs will grow bigger and fatter. This is very noticeable when comparing newly bought pigs to fully grown ones — you’ll see the size difference easily.
Selling pigs is almost never a good ideabecause you’ll only get about half of what you paid for them. Instead, the most profitable move is toslaughter them and process their meat into products.
When you butcher pigs, the amount of pork you receive depends on their size. Newly bought pigs only drop seven pieces of pork, whilefully grown pigs drop 26 pieces of pork.Pigs reach their maximum size about eight days after birth.
Pork Product Prices
Selling raw pork is much more profitable than selling live pigs. However, if you process that pork into meat products, you can make even more money. Here’s a table showing all the things you can do with pork and their prices:

To turn pork into minced meat, you’ll need a meat grinder and a pan.To make sausages, you’ll also need a sausage stuffer. And if you want to maximize profits, you can build a preserving bin for meat toturn sausages into salami sausages, which sell for the most money.
If you want to maximize your profit from pork, wait for a good price multiplier at Best Burger. Selling your processed meat there can earn you far more than selling it elsewhere.
