After being dropped in a brand-new star system with basically nothing and then laid off by the company that sent you there, you’re left to gather all your gear across the planets of this isolated part of space. As you gain more, you will be introduced to even more gameplay mechanics, and with the, challenges.
While the poorly-disguised Slappi will offer you Shrines to test your skills, he also assigns you challenges to use your regained gadgets to the best of your ability. This can gain from somewhat complex to quite simple. Except for the Shock and Awe challenge, which is hilariously more complex than any other challenge in the game.

How To Unlock The Shock And Awe Challenge
When you are given challenges by Slappi, they come in pairs. All of the challenges, typically numbering four in total, must be completed before the challenge as a whole is finished. Upon completion, these unlock a new set of upgrades for you to purchase. These aren’t simple upgrades either, but ones that completely alter the way you fight and move through the world.
The Shock and Awe challenge is offered aspart of the second set of challenges you must complete. To complete it, it requires that you are able to absorb Ferrous Goo, so verify you have that upgrade for the Water Hose before even attempting this.

How To Complete The Shock And Awe Challenge
The Shock and Awe challenge requires that youdefeat five enemies, all at the same time, by shocking them. Since you do not actually have the ability to use electricity yourself, you have to rely on Ferrous Goo and electrified mushrooms. This makes the challenge more restrictive that others, only able to be achieved in specific locations.
For us, we found that the areaby the peaks of Zenethian Rift, right below the teleporter there, was the best location to achieve this. It has a Ferrous Goo source in the centre of the area, a multitude of enemies spread around, and plenty of electrified mushrooms. So how should we go about this?
Ferrous Goo slows anyone that enters it, though it can still be hard to guarantee all five enemies will be standing in it when you activate it. So we need to manipulate the system a little bit. you’re able to put down a lot of Ferrous Goo before it starts to deload or get overwritten. As such, you will want topaint the entire area in Ferrous Goo, refilling at the source whenever you run out. Once you’re finished painting the area, just connect it to a mushroom and it will instantly fry every enemy standing in the goo.
That includes you, so verify toleave a safe place to stand yourself.
However, there is every chance this may not work the first time. The enemies here die instantly after being shocked, after all. Thankfully, the game is very generous on when it deloads things. If you somehow don’t shock five enemies at the same time, justteleport back to base, and then right back. The Ferrous Goo will remain in place, and all the enemies will respawn. Therefore, you can just keep trying until you complete the challenge. As long as you don’t leave the planet, it’s very unlikely the Ferrous Goo you place will be removed.
Completing the Shock and Awe challenge, and all the other challenges as part of this round, will unlock the next set of upgrades, such asTriple Thrusters and the Drone Glider.
