Tainted Grail: The Fall Of Avalonbrings you into an adventure full of magic, mysteries, and darkness, as the land of Avalon is riddled with evil creatures. When your destiny gets entangled with the legend of King Arthur, you will find yourself starting your own legend, but many dangers await.

The first of those dangers is the night itself, which is presented as a period where there are almost no safe spaces. However, your adventures in Avalon are just starting, so you must eventually become familiar with the night, as it will bring you not only conflict, but opportunities too. Here’s all you need to know about it.

If You Feel Unprepared, Just Get Into A Dungeon

Ok, the night is here, you cannot avoid it, and you find yourself in the open fields of Avalon during a very dangerous time, wheresome extra dangerous monsters show up around otherwise calm areas in Avalon.Still, the night comes with some perks, andyou should try to make the most out of this, but there’s no shame in being too careful.

If you’re feeling too underleveled or unprepared to face this, you can always head into the nearest dungeon, as the extra nocturnal monster spawns don’t affect what happens in instanced areas, andyou can spend your time doing some dungeon crawling instead.

Mind Where You Camp

Camping serves multiple purposes, like resting, cooking, or leveling up, but during the night, you might find yourself in a vulnerable area, far from any fast travel points.

To survive in these conditions, you must always try to set camp as far as possible from any monster spawn point, ideally inside some ruins or cabins, and then you can keep exploring the area while the bonfire remains active; justremember where you set it up, or it’ll be hard for you to go back to it if you need it.

Fuel The Fire

Fueling the bonfire using Ethereal Cobwebs will help you keep the monsters awaywhile you sleep, and it will also enable more options for you to use in a bonfire, likeFast Traveling or Identifying items.

While you won’t always need to do it, it’s always useful to have the option of fast traveling out of wherever you find yourself, assometimes you’ll need to make a strategic retreat if you feel trapped by the monsters around.Fuel. The. Fire. Always

Farm Ethereal Cobwebs Beforehand

To be able to follow the last tip,you will need Ethereal Cobwebs, which are the currency you’ll use to fuel your fire, but these don’t come cheap. You cannot even buy those, asyou will only find them in very few gathering points across the map, or dropped by some enemies.

Unfortunately, the easiest way to get those is by exploring and killing monsters during the night cycle, so don’t be a chicken, McFly, and farm those cobwebs until you have enough to cruise through the night without problems.

Stash Whatever You Won’t Need

After playing this game for a good chunk of hours, chances are that your inventory will be packed with a lot of different stuff, and by all means, you should avoid reaching that point.Being overencumbered makes you unable to fast traveland significantly drops your movement speed during walking, which is a huge inconvenience.

Put the stuff you won’t need on the stash at the Keeper’s Fortress, keep your inventory as fresh and light as possible, and you should be fine;you don’t want to get overencumbered in the middle of the night, believe me.

Sneak Around

You will inevitably come across monsters during the night, and if you wanna survive, you better get used to it, as there’s no way around that. However, this doesn’t mean that they have to see you, assneaking can help you travel safely, if you invest enough time into that skilland the appropriate skill tree.

Justtake your time to crouch-walk as far as you can from where the enemies are, slowly but surely, and you should be able to slip away from any hot spot without incident.

Pick Your Fights

Well, they saw you anyway, good job, they’re coming for you now. You know what, it’s fine, it happens to the best of us; however, you should be smart about the kind of fights you pick, asyou can’t always head first into a group without a proper plan.

Don’t go against multiple enemies if you’re in a narrow area; try to kill them one by one, and heal yourself as needed, justdon’t be greedy and don’t save your potions, you may make more later, but the time lost if you die won’t be recovered.

There Is No Shame In Running

If fighting goes sideways, just don’t be stubborn andrun away if the circumstances are getting you closer to death; you can come back to explore another day, but you won’t be able to do anything if you die, andbacktracking your lost progress is a nightmare.

Worst case scenario, you might lose precious loot if you forgot to quick save before a hard fight, so don’t be naive and run if necessary.
