Upon reaching Ginormosia inFantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time, or possibly even earlier, you will discover that some bodies of water can be swum across. This is particularly important in Ginormosia, as it’s the only way to reach some locations without the proper mounts to do the job for you.
The first thing that most players are going to notice about swimming, however, is that it’s a positively glacial activity. Swimming in Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time is a slow-going thing, but you can raise your swimming speed somewhat by completing a specific early quest. Here’s how.

How To Increase Your Swimming Speed
First, you’ll not be able to do much swimming at all until Ginormosia is introduced. Once that’s happened, return to your native time via the main story, and thenhead back to Ginormosia.
From this point forward, an important NPC namedMadam Chompwill spawn. You can find her inEast Dryridge Desert, specifically, rather close to Haniwa Village. It’s in thesouthern part of the zone.
She’ll give you an important item: theSwimmer’s Pride. But she’ll only do so once you’ve acquiredfive Cashnuts. The easiest ways to do so are throughfinding Leafes, finishing Shrines, and the completion of Area Challenges. All of these are done right here in Ginormosia.
In the heat of the moment, if you’ve only just begun exploring Ginormosia, five Cashnuts might seem like a tough order. But you’ll have them quickly enough - trust us.Return to Madam Chomp with the Cashnuts, and she’ll hand you this item.
You needn’t equip it; it takes effect by default.
Now,your swimming speed will be somewhat faster. You’ll have no great difficulty crossingdeeper waters, which mounts can’t help you with. At least, none we’ve unlocked. We can’t promise you’ll notice ahugedifference, but it’s better than nothing!
