You don’t have to survive in theMinecraftworld alone, even if you’re playing single-player. This is because you can tame some animals that will then follow you around. Some of those potential buddies are cats and kittens.
Unfortunately, they ruthlessly kill little critters. On the plus side, they also repel the likes of creepers and phantoms. So, they’re useful companions to have. Plus, they’re very adorable. How To Tame Cats
Before you can tame a cat, you need to find them.They typically appear in villages, but you can find them wandering about all over the place.
Once you find a cat, you can tame them byeither feeding them raw cod or raw salmon.To do this, you simply walk up to them andhit the use item button. So, it’s the same button as to feed yourself, butif your cursor is hovered over the little creature, you will feed them instead.
Cooked cod or cooked salmon doesn’t work—these cats only like raw fish.
You will know when you’ve tamed them becausehearts will appear over their heads and a red collar will magically spawn around their necks.
How To Acquire Cod And Salmon
Naturally,fishing is the most common way to acquire cod and salmon. To do that, you need a fishing rod.
So,put three sticks going diagonally across your crafting grid, thenplace two bits of string underneaththe top stick. This willcreate a rod.
With the fishing rod in hand,visit a body of water and throw your line in by pressing the use item button.Watch the lure in the ocean. When bubbles appear around it and it gets dunked,hit the use item button again to reel your catch in.
It won’t always be a fish you catch, butit shouldn’t take too many tries to get cod and salmonsince they aren’t incredibly rare.
If fishing isn’t your thing, you can jump into the water and attack the fish to get what you need.
