The quest and story structure inAssassin’s Creed Shadowsis a strange beast. Instead of a fully linear path, you get a little bit of choice in what mission you tackle next. That also means you’re sometimes left not knowing what to do.
You’ll need to know how to track quests so that you’re able to be sure of where you need to go next, whether you’re tackling a new side quest or continuing the main story. Once you’ve learned what you need to do, you’ll be familiar enough to not be lost for the rest of your time with the game.

How To Track Quests
To track a new quest, you first of all need topause the game and open up the Objectives tab of the menu. From there, you’ll be presented by all of the quests you’ve unlocked thus far in a group format. Sets of quests are broken up into different themes, with the mainline story quests in the middle of it all.
To track a new quest, you first need todecide what quest you would like to tacklenext. Have a look through each of the groups and pick one you’d like to be your next adventure.

Then, select the little diamond icon underneath the person who is the icon of the quest. That iconshould then turn a light shade of blue, which indicates that the quest is tracked. The objective or clue to a location will then show in the top left of the screen when you return to the game.
Many parts of the story leave you with no quests currently being tracked. If this happens, follow the instructions above to track one for yourself.
How To Add Waypoints
If you don’t have a precise location to follow as part of a quest, you can set a waypoint on the map yourself. To do that, open up the map screen.
Then, move the cursor to where on the map you’d like to go. Now,press triangle if you’re on PlayStation or Y on Xbox to place a marker. That marker will then show on your compass at the top of the screen when you return to the game.
you’re able to add multiple waypoints at any time, with each showing in a different colour on the map and compass.
