After a long time without getting anything new, Disciples of Hand and Land finally received some tailor-made content with the introduction of Cosmic Exploration. With its debut in patch 7.21 ofFinal Fantasy 14, non-combat Classes are back in the spotlight in a completely new area filled with your favorite crafting and gathering activities.

By working as a method to help players level these Classes, this new crafting activity also sparks some healthy competition among veterans, where they try their best to prove themselves as the best in their craft, aiming for its unique rewards obtained through some sheer effort.

Stellar Missions

Click the green icon on the Exotablet to pick a Stellar Mission. They’resimilar to Levequests in both UI and objectives. Stellar Missions vary according to your current Class, and you also need enough gear to complete them (always displayed in the menu).

For Disciples of Hand, your goal is to craft a certain number of items, and you’re immediately given the materials to craft them. For Disciples of Land, you must gather enough items at a certain point on the map(also displayed on the Mission menu). The Star Contributors zone for Cosmic Exploration in Final Fantasy 14.

You start with Class D Missions, and completing enough of them unlocks Class C Missions, and so on. Higher Classes require more crafting/gathering in total, but also give you better rewards, going up to Class A.

Provisional Missions can appearafter completing regular Missions with a Gold Star ranking. They award you even better rewards, but they are much harder to complete.

Critical Missions appear at random around the map, just like FATEs, and you can choose which of the available classes you want to use on them. They give out a generous amount of Cosmocredits and Lunar Credits for completion.

Stellar Success

The Stellar Success menumarks your progress and rewards you by advancing in the Cosmic Exploration. Daily Success gives out daily rewards for tasks such as getting a Gold Star ranking on Stellar Missions or completing enough Missions, while Standard tracks your overall progress in the area.

Getting enoughDaily Successes gives you a total of 600 Cosmocredits and 1,000 Lunar Credits every day. Each zone has its own individual Standard Progress, awarding you various prizes for each of its goals.

Mech Ops

By spending 1,000 Lunar Credits, you may speak with Alerot at (X 22.4, Y:20.3) to be selected as a Mech pilot for special FATE missionsthat occasionally appear around the map. These FATEs have special objectives that require multiple players to complete, often using unique FATE actions.

If you’re not picked as a pilot or don’t have enough Credits, you can still participate as a Ground Support. Just head to the FATE on foot to participate. You get a special action in your hotbar to complete the FATE, and you can join with any DoH or DoL.

Cosmic Tools can be unlocked byprogressing in Cosmic Exploration with your individual classes. You can check your current progress at the Cosmic Research icon, and once you have reached the goals, speak with Researchingway to get your Tool.

Each DoH and DoL has a Tool, and while they start weak, they eventually become the strongest Tools available in the expansion. If you’re leveling a Class while doing exploration, completing them as you level saves you from buying new Tools every few levels. You need to complete tons of missions to upgrade them.

Players with the highest scores will have their characters made into a hologram, displayed right beside Scanningway, complete with their name and total score.
