The First Berserker: Khazanhas tons of things for you to do, typically coming in the form of missions and bonus missions that will reward you plentifully upon completion. While you will naturally obtain new systems as you play through the main story, some aspects are locked behind bonus missions.
Kaleido is a perfect example of this, as it is a relatively short bonus mission that unlocks the ability of Gear Augmentation, allowing you to change the Random Attributes of your equipment and raise its level. It’s a crucial system, but it will only be yours if you tackle this bonus mission!
How To Complete Kaleido
TheBlade Nexuswill bedirectly in front of youas soon as the bonus mission starts. Activate it to have acheckpointand spend your Lacrima if you have enough to level your Stats. From here,head down the stairsto see aseries of Flame TrapsandSpectersin the distance.
Wait for the Flame Trap to rotate,having one of theplumes of fire pass you.As soon as thefire rotates past you,run behind it and match its paceuntil you reach the open sectionbefore the next trap. Once here, theSpecters will be alertedto you. Use yourJavelintopick them offbefore moving on.
An item is to the far leftof the next set of traps.Perform the same action on both the trapsto get to the item, allowing you to snagx2 Fire Cleanse Potion.These will be extremely helpful later on in the level!
Continue Ahead
Next,return to the central areaandfollow the next set of trapstoward thestaircase.There will betwo Specter Archershere, but you can’t stop due to the Flame Traps.Match the pace of the first Flame Traplike you did the others, thenuse your evade to dash through the secondone.
If done correctly,youwon’t receive any damagefrom the fire and will bedirectly in front of the Archers.Take them down swiftly, thenproceed up the staircase.At the top of the stairs,turn rightto find acorpseon the ground.Absorbit for someLacrima and Soul Tear Dust!
Navigating The Silent Temple
Turn around andhead to the left of the staircaseto seeanother Specter in the distance.Use yourJavelintoinsta-killthem, then proceed forward. There will be apurple item on your left.Approach the item to have apair of Specters break out from behind barricadesfor an ambush.
Defeat the Specters and grab the item for aWater Enhancer,thencontinue following the main pathuntil it splits. On theleft will be an open room,with theright leading to a staircase.You will want togo lefthere!
Left Pathway
Heading to the left willlead you to anopen roomwith severalSpecter Zombies.As you may have remembered from previous missions,some will emerge from the ground as you begin killing off the others,so be prepared for that.Keep an eye on your Stamina,and you will be golden, asthey have pretty little health.
Finish off the Specters and throw theChestopen for aButcher’s Pauldrons, Butcher’s Leggings, Butcher’s Shoes, and x3 Transmutation Mist.From here, head back to the staircase and begin climbing your way up them!
Up The Staircase
Make your wayup the staircaseand onto theupper floorof the Silent Temple to find ahandful of Specter Soldiers.Pick some off with yourJavelin,thenfinish off the restwith ease. Next, startmaking your way to the end of the floor.Look to theleftfor aladder,andtake it downto the platform below.
Loot theitem on the groundto obtain theFallen Lord’s Scroll and an Augment of Wisdom.There will beanother ladderon this platform. Interact with it tokick it down, creating a nice little shortcutfor you if you happen to need it in the future.
Climb back up the ladderand onto the second floor andhead toward the staircase straight in frontof you. To therightwill be acorpse. Absorbit to get a hefty amount ofLacrima and Soul Tear Dust!
The Final Stretch
Godown the staircase,following it into asizable roomwith apatrolling Specter Knight.He has anenormous shield and spear,making him decently challenging. However, if youlure him toward youand bring himnear the staircase,no other enemies in the room can interferewith you, allowing you to make quick work of him.
Reflecting the Specter’s attacks will drain its Stamina Gauge,allowing you tounleash your Skills for massive damage,making it your path to victory. After you defeat the Specter Knight,head to the left of the stairsyou came down from, then takeanother sharp leftto find anitem in the back rightcorner. Loot it to obtainx2 Lightning Resistance Elixir and x3 Stone.
Walk a bit forwardfrom the item until you reach alarge stone column.Peek out to the rightto see aSpecter Archer.Use yourJavelinto eliminate it. Then,look out to the leftof the column to seeanother one on the stairs,anduse your Javelinto defeat that one as well!
More Flame Traps And Treasure!
With all the enemies in the room defeated, you cansafely climb the lone ladder in the roomto the catwalk above. Once here, you will see aseries of rotating Flame Traps.Since youhave almost no room to move, these are a bit trickier to evade,even if they are handled the same as last time.
To get to the other side of the catwalk without taking damage, unlike us, youmust time when you move from Flame Trap to Flame Trap,as youcan’t rely on using your evadeto cut through the flames since they’re far too close to one another. So,when matching your pace to the fire, switch off to the next one as soon as possible,thenslowly follow that one out,andrinse and repeatuntil you’re home free.
Two Chests will be waiting for youat the end. Let’sopen the one on the right firstto obtain theImperial Soldier’s Dual Wield, Wanderer’s Leggings, Necklace of Resilience, and Earth Enhancer.Then, forthe one on the left,open it and thenrun away from it as it is rigged with explosives!After it detonates, loot the item left behind for theNecklace of Protection and x25 Treated Gem!
Almost Done
If youhave enough health, walk off the catwalkand thenhead up the stairs where the Specter Archers were.Once at the top, you will see aBlade Nexus.Phew.We made it.Rest at itto replenish your health and spend your Lacrima, thenproceed toward the fog wallto finish this bonus mission!
Defeat The Specter Soldiers
On theother side of the fog wall are…two Specters.One is aCaster,and the other is aKnight.It’snot really a boss fightand not what we were anticipating in the slightest. But, hey, we’re not complaining.Focus on the Specter Caster first,as they are thesquishiest and will be annoyingat range.
Dropping the Caster will allow you tofocus all your attention on the Knight,which will behandled the same as the one from earlier.Easy peasy. Once you defeat the Specter Knight,Oksana will appearnear the back of the room.Speak with her and return to The Creviceto complete the bonus mission!
Augmentation Unlocked
Back at The Crevice,at last, now with the ability to useGear Augmentation.This allows you touse resources to alter your equipment’s Random Attributesormerge equipment together to raise your Gear’s Level.This will be extremely useful the further you get in the game, so it’s best to unlock it now!
