Crossovers have become the lifeblood of games as a service, andMonster Hunter Wildsis no exception. The developers at Capcom dug into their own IP catalog and chose the Street Fighter series for this premiere event.

Akuma appears in the game, ready to challenge all hunters with his signature thirst for battle. He’ll ask you to prove your strength, and if you’re successful, you’ll be able to forge an armor set that not only grants you his appearance but also access to his iconic attacks. Here’s how to get the equipment and start throwing hadoukens in Monster Hunter Wilds.

Starting Ultimate Strength

To begin the Ultimate Strength quest, you’ll need tospeak to Quinnin the Oilwell Basin, who is asking you tohelp around camp. Afterward, you’llchat with two village NPCs, Clorolo and Lattner, who will tell you oftempered monster remainsthey stumbled upon in the wild. It’s time to gofind these carcasses and figure out what’s going on.

Finding The Carcasses

Based on the information that Clorolo and Lattner gave, you know thatone carcass is located in theBasin’s middle stratumand the other isat the top.

The first can befound in Area 5. Here, you’ll come across adesecrated Rathian corpseatop a small cliff. Next, travel to Area 11, and there will bea dead Gypceros. You’ll be prompted totravel to Azuz and talk to Maki, a young girl whomay have some cluesas to what’s happening.

The monster bodies will not be marked on your map, meaning you’ll need to search Areas 5 and 11 on your own. you’re able to make this task easier by setting a waypoint in each zone and having your Seikret navigate to them automatically.

Finding Akuma

Maki will give you some more informationabout the mysterious monster deaths and suggest yousearch the lowest part of the Subterranefor answers.

Once again, you won’t have an objective markertelling you exactly where to go, only Maki’s vague words. You’ll want tohead to Area 14, and as you enter, you will hear Akuma’s distinctive grunts. Open up your map; he can befound in a caveoff to the left of Area 14,filled with Nitroshrooms.

Approach andspeak to Akuma. He’s a bit hostile, exclaiming thatyou need to prove your strength, evenhitting you with a Raging Demonto illustrate your weakness. Conveniently, the best way to show your mettle is bycompletingan arena questin the Grand Hub.

Arena Quest: Demonic Strength

The Demonic Strength quest initially appears straightforward, asking you toslay a TemperedAjarakan. However, it gives youfull access to the Akuma armor setfor the duration of your fight. This means you cantake advantage of its unique mechanics, like fullmartial arts melee combos, hadoukens, and eventhe Drive Impact mechanicfromStreet Fighter 6.

These functions are used by equipping them in Monster Hunter’s item bar, though they can also be mapped to a radial menu for easier access.

You’ll still have a traditional weaponduring the fight, soit’s not requiredto engage with Akuma’s deeper complexities if they seem overwhelming at first.Complete the fight as normal(it should only take a few minutes), and headback to the Oilwell Basin. Akuma will be pleased with your progress, andUltimate Strength will be completed.

Forging The Akuma Armor Set

Gaining permanent access to the Akuma armor set willtake a bit more workon your part. After finishing Ultimate Strength, another arena quest will be unlocked, this one named True Strength. Both Demonic Strength and True Strengthgive SF6 Tickets upon completion, items that arenecessary to forge your gear.

You’ll needfive SF6 Tickets, three Ajarakan Scale+, and one Ajarakan Jewel+to get your personal Akuma cosplay. Once the armor is yours, you’ll be able touse the Satsui no Hadou to your heart’s content.

The Akuma set is forged as one item, so you won’t need to worry about grinding hours upon hours to assemble each part.
