Schedule 1is all about becoming the drug kingpin of a sleepy town called Hyland Point. While you’re starting out just slinging bags as a small-time dealer, over time you’ll eventually build up the number of properties you own and the different types of drugs you can produce. This is where the Chemist comes in. You will get access to the Chemist as a hired staff member once you reach Hoodlum V and get into the illegal warehouse.

Then you’re able to hire a Chemist to handle your mix stations and cooking stations to help automate some parts of your production chain.

Management Clipboard with different grow tents, beds, and storage on it - a clipboard for managing your workers in Schedule 1.

How To Hire A Chemist

You will unlock access to theillegal warehouseby following the main storyline of the game. This will allow you to talk toManny, the Fixer, who can help you hire different staff members, including Cleaners, Chemists, Botanists, and Handlers.

Chemists are responsible for handling mixing stations, chemistry tables, and cooking stations. These will all be important as you increase your production to more serious drugs in Schedule 1.

You don’t need to worry about hiring a Chemist until you’re quite far into the game, as they are expensive to purchase and expensive to pay on a daily basis. You will need a robust supply chain and plenty of disposable cash to get the most out of this staff member.

How To Use A Chemist

To use the Chemist you’ve hired, you’ll need to set up a couple of things before they start working.

First up, the Management Clipboard. We’ve covered this in-depth in this guide, but basically it’s the tool you’ll need to assign the Chemist to the correct stations and tables. You canclick on the chemist to open the management menu for that specific employee.

All employeesalso need a bed. This bed can be placed in any of your properties, so, for example, you could fill your motel room with beds and leave more space in the apartment or bungalow for your workers.

At the end of the bed you’ll find a briefcase. you’re able to put your Chemist’s daily wages into the briefcase. If you fail to pay them, they won’t work.

Chemists will need to be connected via theManagement Clipboardto shelves with supplies and mixing and chemistry tables. Chemists will workas long as they have accessible materialsto craft with. Ample ingredients for mixing - like Cuke, Gasoline, etc, whatever it is you’re mixing with - should be accessible in the storage shelf that you have assigned to the Chemist.

It’s a good idea to have Chemists for multiple roles, depending on the drug you are creating and what you are mixing them with. Pair them with aHandlerso that mixing tables have the correct ingredients for your recipes.

Why Isn’t My Chemist Working In Schedule 1?

Chemists are the trickiest out of all the employees to set up correctly.ensure that you have the required materials on your shelves.

If your Chemist bugs out, you can try to restart your game. We’ve experienced problems with both the Mixer Mark 1 and the Mixer Mark 2, so it might be that the Chemist is just bugged currently in this version of Schedule 1.
