While you mightencounter powerful Charizard decksand other top-tier options in the meta game, there are alternative options that can keep your experience fresh.
One of these decks is the Wugtrio ex deck that emerged with the release ofShining Revelry, a set focused on shiny Pokemon.While Wugtrio’s attack doesn’t specify a target, the consistent spread damage this deck provides makes it one of the most difficult decks to deal with in the Pokemon Pocket meta game.
Wugtrio ex Deck List
A Wugtrio ex deck primarily emphasizes the 150 spread damage output of this Pokemon, centering around quick setups that can end matches quickly before your opponent even sets up.

You cansubstitute one of the Giant Capes in your deck for Ionoif you notice that you struggle to disrupt decks from setting up.
While you may be tempted to substitute Leaf in for X Speed, this deck doesn’t require you to retreat often, and the Pokemon have low retreat costs. As such,it’s better to avoid using your Trainer card on a Leaf when X Speed should be more than enoughto get your Pokemon to safety.

Wugtrio ex Deck Strategy
Wiglett and Wugtrio ex might not look like one of the most ferocious Pokemon in the Pocket meta, but their ability tohit opposing Pokemon for up to 150 damageis incredibly powerful considering how easy these Pokemon can be to set up.
While Wugtrio ex’s attack hits three separate times for 50 damage each time, this attack can stack up on one or two Pokemon if your opponent’s bench isn’t full.
Given Wugtrio’s ability to hit multiple Pokemon, it pairs well withPalkia,whoseDimensional Stormattack does150damageto the Active Pokemon while also inflicting20 damage to each of your opponent’s Benched Pokemon.
Ideally, you shouldfirst focus on setting up Wugtrio exby usingManaphy’s Oceanic Gift and Misty to give energyto your Wiglett on the bench. Once Wiglett evolves into Wugtrio ex, you can switch it to the Active Slot andutilize Dawn’s effect to move energy to your attacking Wugtrio ex.
Once you have Wugtrio ex firing off 50-damage attacks,you can direct all remaining energy to a benchedPalkia ex,who can set up in the back while Wugtrio ex puts more pressure on your foe with its attacks.
With both Palkia ex and Wugtrio ex ready,you’re able to switch between them as needed to whittle down your foe’s Pokemon, first using Wugtrio, then cleaning up the leftovers with Palkia.
From adefensiveperspective, utilizeGiant CapeandIridato protect your Active Pokemon and heal any damage that your opponent manages to inflict on your Pokemon.
If you’re struggling to survive against certain matchups, you can shift an X Speed or Giant Cape out of the deck to add another Irida, giving you an extra 20 HP to work with if used well.
Ultimately, this deck excelsat putting your opponent under early pressure, and uses Wugtrio’s deadly consistency to weaken opposing Pokemon before they can set up. If you can get Wugtrio ex ready to attack within the first three turns, then you’ll be in an incredibly strong position to end the match.
Palkia ex isn’t strictly needed to win games, but it provides the flexibility for you to finish matches strong if your Wugtrio is taken out.
