It wouldn’t be a proper game about high schoolers stuck in a creepy situation without a gifting system, and the Gift-o-Matic inThe Hundred Line: Last Defense Academytakes your desire to give presents to your friends to the next level: you’ll be crafting them as well as buying them.
With the Gift-o-Matic offering dozens of potential presents for all of your teammates, and sharp spikes in your grades to be earned by giving the right gifts, you’ll want to make careful use of the Gift-o-Matic both during missions and Free Time segments to get the most from your team.

How To Give Gifts
Craft Presents In The Gift-O-Matic
Plenty of visual novels have gifting mechanics, and The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy is no different. OnDay 010after the morning announcement from a conspicuously absent Sirei, you’ll gain access to theRec Roomon thesecond floor of the Academy. Head there and chat with Eito to get an introduction to the machine inside:the Gift-o-Matic.
You’ve probably noticed theassorted materials on the bottom of your pause screen, the ones you get by exploring the world beyond the walls and can use to level up your team’s Class Weapons as well. Be sure to save a good number of materials while you’re upgrading andprepping for combat, though, since the Gift-o-Matic makes youcraft each giftyou’d like to give out.

Gifts costboth resources and Battle Points to fabricatein the machine. you’re able to scroll through the list of items to see a brief overview of each recipe before you make it, and be sure to pay attention toitem categories, since there are several broad categories your teammates enjoy that can help inform which items they may like to receive.
You can choose to filter the Gift-o-Matic recipes by category to help remove some of the fluff, if you know what category the item you’re looking to make falls into. Even if you have a vague idea what your classmates like, it’s helpful to organize as best as you can - there are dozens of gift recipes you can make, so the catalog is kind of dense. You’ll see yourselflearning filters by spending time with teammates, which helps narrow down items you’re looking for even further.

Additionally, you’ll notice that plenty of gifts in the Gift-o-Matic arelocked until you obtain a specific item, which is most often done from thetreasure spaces on the expedition boards. Try to land on those whenever possible, since those items are the key to unlocking the best gifts in The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy.
Finally, yourpersuasion missions require the use of the Gift-o-Matic, since you’ll need to fabricate token items for specific classmates before they’ll take up arms in the fightagainst the school invaders. These persuasion missions typically have clear-cut dates on which they happen, and the game will show you the space you’ll need to get to in order to unlock every persuasion mission gift.

That said, it’s never a bad idea to grab other materials while you’re out looking for the rarer stuff you need to make the best presents in the game - if you’ve got HP left and want to scavenge a bit, you don’t need to land on that space right away.
Give Gifts To Pass Time And Raise Grades
When you make a present for someone in the Gift-o-Matic, you’llgive it to them immediatelyafter the crafting process is done, and doing so willconsume your Free Time slot. As such, be sure you’re ready to advance time to the next segment in the story before handing out presents.
As you spend time with your teammates around the Academy between battles, you’ll not onlylearn hints about what everyone likes in conversationswith themandother classmates who may mention someone else’s interests in passing, but you’re able to alsoexperiment with gifting based on item category.
Your friends will like each gift a different amount: they either love, like, or dislike an item, and you’llearn grade points according to how much the teammate likes the giftyou gave them. The breakdowns are as follows:
Since there are other ways to study and resources can become somewhat limited without careful monitoring, you may want to do some digging tofind out what your teammates like before giving giftswhenever possible, lest you waste time and resources giving disliked gifts. The reactions are amusing, but the waste of goods isn’t! In general,it’s best to wait until you have a loved giftbefore gifting, unless you truly need to raise a grade quickly.
