Summary

Stop me if you’ve heard this one before, but aTransformersgame has been canceled and content from it has managed to leak online. In early January,Splash Damage announced that it had canceled Transformers: Reactivate to focus on other projects. Then,a day later, gameplay from the canceled title leaked online, showcasing driving and combat mechanics.

Now, in a bit of déjà vu, another Transformers game that has been canceled has had elements shared online. This time, it’s Project Goliath.

Will Transformers Fans Ever Get A Quality Game Again?

In a new post shared by the online fan community of Tformers, a site dedicated to all things Robots in Disguise, a Transformers game being codenamed Project Goliath has managed to leak online. The game was apparently being developed by Skydance Interactive, and the concept art shared showcases a hybrid art style between the classic G1 designs and the hyperrealistic nature of Michael Bay’s live-action movies.

Interestingly enough, the Bumblebee design is heavily inspired by the most recent live-action movie, Rise of the Beasts. The Autobot would transform into a dune buggy in this game, which would’ve been pretty cool, all things considered.

Finally, there is a design for an exo-suit that would presumably be used by a human. The site theorizes that the game would’ve followed Rise of the Beasts, where in the final act the human protagonist dons a suit made from Mirage, essentially becoming a Transformer/Human hybrid.

The full concept art, which can be found here, ultimately provides yet another glimpse of “What Could Have Been” had the game not been canceled. It still remains to be seen when another Transformers game will see the light of day, or at the very least, ports of the classic 360 era games.
