At this stage in the PS5’s life cycle, anyone interested in picking up the bundle will probably think those prices are pretty fair. However, they’ll only realize just how good a deal they’re getting if they check how much it costs to buy a PS5 without a copy of Astro Bot bundled with it before they check out.

Astro Bot PS5 Bundles Are Now Available At PlayStation Direct

And They’re Cheaper Than Buying A PS5 All By Itself

The slimmer model of the PS5 all by itselfis currently carrying a $499.99 pricetagon PlayStation Direct, while the digital edition is $449.99. That means if you were to buy either of them instead of the same consoles bundled with a copy of Astro Bot, you’ll pay $50 more. Just to clarify, that means you’re getting a $500 console plus a $60 game and for some reason, it costs $50 less.

PlayStation 5 Console - ASTRO BOT Bundle

PlayStation has bundled its slim PS5 models with Astro Bot. The bundles come with either a standard or digital edition of the slim PS5, a copy of Astro Bot, and a standard DualSense controller.

Even if you don’t want Astro Bot, although I can’t even begin to figure out why you wouldn’t, you may as well pick up the bundle and save yourself $50 in the process. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to trade in your copy of Astro Bot and technically get the PS5 for even less since it’s a voucher you redeem, not a physical copy. But hey, you could give the voucher to a PS5-owning friend and let them experience one of the greatest platformers ever made.

PlayStation has been riding the Astro Bot wave since it launched last September, picking up 2024’s Game of the Yearand releasing DLC levels at a steady pace. The final level inthe most recent batch of speedrun stages, Armored Hardcore, will be live by the time you read this. If you’re picking up a bundle and haven’t even started your Astro Bot journey yet, you have so many more levels to play through than the rest of us had at launch.
