Summary

There’s no denying the popularity ofKingdom Come: Deliverance 2. The medieval peasant simulator has been one of the best releases of the year thanks to its great story, memorable characters, stunning visuals, and somefun, unique features. However, in order for all these elements to work, you need time.

Director Daniel Vávra recently stated that making a game of this scope is a long process. In fact the time and effort that went into it made him think about future projects and how he’ll be able to manage them better. He hopes that the answer lies in the advancement of AI tools.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Director Wants To Make More Games With The Help Of AI

“I had some serious health issues from all the stress. I really need to slow down a little bit,” said Vávra in a conversation withThe Game Business(viaVGC). However, he was careful to mention that he wants to use AI to speed up the process rather than replace actual developers.

“It really annoys me that the games take so much time, because I have more ideas than I have time,” he explained. “There are a couple of projects that I would love to do. And I would love to prepare them properly, so it’s not as chaotic. I hope that the AI revolution will help with this, where in the future we will not be replaced by AI, but we will be helped by AI. So a lot of the things could get easier and faster."

We don’t know how far AI will advance, but we already know that people have been losing their jobs to generative AI. While Vávra says that he doesn’t want to replace actual devs, the “AI revolution” will undoubtedly make certain jobs redundant. It’s easy to say that you’ll hold on to employees, but what will they do once a machine starts doing their jobs? Even if it saves time.

“It will be great if this would happen. I have a couple of big ideas that I would like to make that will require a lot of time and preparation […]. A couple of projects that, in my opinion, have as big potential as Kingdom Come: Deliverance.”
