When theNintendo Switch 2launcheslater this June, two ofNintendo’smarquee franchises will be receiving some major shakeups.Mario Kartisgoing open world in Mario Kart World, and, yes,Rainbow Road will be part of the game.
Meanwhile,Donkey Kong is going 3D in Donkey Kong Bananza. Oh, andhe’ll also have a new look, including some snazzy pants. With that in mind,Nintendo fans took to Reddit to share the franchises they hope also get a major shakeup during the Switch 2’s lifecycle.

The Switch 2 Is The Perfect Time To Break The Rules
To start, one fan suggested that the Ice Climbers make a non-Smash Bros. appearance in a game styled after It Takes Two or Split Fiction. “Its just felt like time they finally breathed some life into the franchise,” they wrote in their post.
They’re not wrong as the duo have not had a solo title since the 1980s, making it high time they made a return.
Elsewhere, another fan listed Mario Baseball as a franchise in need of a shakeup, specifically in needing a new game. All three of Mario Golf, Tennis and Soccer got new releases on the Switch, except Baseball. The last time there was a Mario Baseball was on the Wii.
Another fan gave a shoutout to Star Fox,writing that they just want “SOMETHING” to play from the franchise. In describing the shakeup, one fan had this idea, writing, “I’d like to see Star Fox become something like Mass Effect but with more and better vehicular combat. It would let it break out of rail shooter without encroaching on Metroid Prime’s spot.”
In a unique twist, one gamer said Luigi’s Mansion could use a shakeup on Switch 2. What does it look like? “Give me King Boo in a dingy haunted house attraction in a spooky amusement park,“they wrote. Not bad. Personally, I’d like to see Smash Bros. have a smaller roster and be more in line with an Arc System Works title.
