The Marksman is one of the Rogue’s three Class Mastery options inLast Epoch, representing the long-range playstyle of the base class. The Marksman wields a variety of ranged attacks using her bow, from raining arrows down on groups of enemies to barraging them with elemental attacks.

One of the Marksman’s exclusive skills is Multishot, which fires a wave of arrows at enemies, dealing high damage in a large area. Below, we’ll take a look at a build that utilizes Multishot for the latter end of the leveling process, carrying you through the Monoliths stage of Last Epoch’s progression.

A Marksman shooting Multishot at enemies in Last Epoch.

This build is centered around Multishot, which unlocks after putting five points into the Marksman Passive Tree. By default, this skill fires acone of five arrows, and you canreduce the spread of these arrows by aiming the cursor further. Through Multishot’s Skill Specialization tree, we’ll turn it into aclose-range skillthat deals incredibly high damage.

To support Multishot, we’ll Specialize inDark Quiver, which provides a variety of buffs, both offensive and defensive.ShurikensandSmoke Bombboth provide additional defensive layers, while Shift is our main form of mobility.

On its own, Multishot is very Mana-hungry, and with no way to restore Mana, this build can completely stall until you regenerate your Mana. Because of this, there are a few Uniques that you’ll want to get, namelyFoot of the MountainandDrelkor’s Compass. Both of these combined will reduce Multishot’s Mana cost, allowing you to spam it for free.

That said, both ofthese Uniques don’t drop until later levels, so you’ll need to level up using something else. We recommend usingDetonating Arrowwith theBarrage nodethat removes the arming time, and theArcing Blastnode that lets the explosion chain to nearby enemies, giving the skill great AoE and damage. This will carry you until you’re able to get the Uniques needed for Multishot.

Skills And Passives

This build’s main skill is Multishot. In its Skill Specialization tree, start on the right side withSniping,Pinning Shots,Large Quiver, and finallyGiant Slayer. This node willgreatly increase Multishot’s single-target damageat the cost ofreducing its overall damage. However, this will beoffset on the left side of the tree.

On the left side, getQuick Draw,Back to Back,Hang Loose, andPoint Blank. Point Blank will make Multishot deal a lotmore damage at close-range, and since you’ll be closer to the enemy, more of Multishot’s arrows will hit them, allowing you to benefit even more from Giant Slayer. Be sure to also put points intoPiercing Shots, and a few inEfficient Drawif you’re having Mana issues.

Dark Quiverprovides a few different buffs to this build, but youwon’t actually put it on your hotbar. This is possible due to theUntil Dawnnode, which you should focus on getting to five points as soon as possible. This will give Multishot a25 percent chance to spawn a Black Arrowwith each use.

Be sure to also get theQuick Drawnode, which grantsFurywhen picking up a Black Arrow, andCrimson Quiver, which grants a stack ofCrimson Shroud. With Until Dawn, you’ll be constantly summoning Black Arrows, so keep an eye on the battlefield and grab them when you see them to keep your buffs up.

UseDecoyon your hotbar instead of Dark Quiver for an emergency taunt.

For Mobility, we are usingShift. Through theMoltingandShadowslipmajor nodes, shift becomes a powerful defensive tool, andMomentummakes it even better for getting around. Be sure to put a few points intoSleight of Hand, allowing you touse Shurikens when Shifting.

For Shurikens, we will be turning it into asecondary defensive buffthat can also deal a bit of damage, rather than a primary attacking ability. Start on the left side of the tree and get theScintillant Steel,Acrobatics,Behind the Veil, andStaggernodes.

Acrobatics will give Shurikens a cooldown, but enable you tobackflip from your current positionwhen you use it, giving another mobility option on top of Shift.Behind the VeilandStaggerboth let Shurikensdebuff enemies they come into contact with.

On the right side of the tree,Blade Shieldwill make your Shurikenscircle around you for a duration, and thenBladed Armorgives you increased Armor while this happens.

Finally,Smoke Bombprovides even more defensive buffs, primarily through theConcealed in Carnage,Enfeeblement,Moonlight Bomb, andShrouded in Darknessnodes. Put points intoLingering FumesandGenerosityto increase Smoke Bomb’s area of effect.

Passive Tree

For Passive Trees, we’ll be primarily using the Marksman tree, but you may add a few points into the Bladedancer and Falconer trees later for someextra Dexterity and tankiness, although thesearen’t necessary for the leveling process.

In the Rogue tree, max outSwift Assassinfirst for more damage, then max outEvasionandAgilityfor extra mobility and damage. Put your 20th point intoSteady Handso you can unlock the Marksman tree.

In the Marksman tree, getAssassin’s Quiverfor a big DPS boost, andDraining Arrowsfor sustain. This node, along withPerfect Aimlater in the tree, work amazingly well with thePeak of the MountainandXithara’s Conundrum Uniques, which make it so you can’t leech or regen health. Since these passive nodes don’t count as leeching, you can still restore health this way.

For the rest of the tree, put points intoConcentration,Meditation, andReflectionfor some added damage, defense, and mobility.Barbed ArrowsandSniper’s Gambitprovide a bit more damage, andSharpshooterhelps offset the damage reduction at long-range from Point Blank in the Multishot tree.Master Archeris also essential, granting Multishot evenmore arrows.

Important Stats And Uniques

This build’s damage-increasing stats are fairly straightforward, as the damage comes entirely from Multishot. This means increasingBow damage,Physical Damage, andCritical Strike ChanceandMultiplierwill have the biggest impact on your DPS.

For defenses, most standard defensive stats will be good here. The majority of this build’s durability comes from theUnique effectson armor and buffs provided by skills likeShurikensandSmoke Bomb.

Here’s how you should prioritize your offensive stats while leveling this build.

Uniques To Look Out For

As mentioned above, this build relies on a number of Uniques for optimal performance, but only two are strictly necessary:Drelkor’s CompassandFoot of the Mountain. These two will let youuse Multishot without consuming Mana, and Drelkor’s Compass provides a ton ofextra damage for Multishotwith extra arrows and Physical Damage.

Peak of the MountainandXithara’s Conundrumpair well together with the Draining Arrows and Perfect Aim passive nodes, letting you sustain your health while dealing damage.

TheRed Ring of Atlariais also an incredibly strong defensive ring, so try to equip two of these if you find them. Also,Nightbringerincreases your offense and utility by blinding and slowing enemies with Multishot.
