For some reason, NetEase has decided thatRocket Raccoonmains have had it far too good, because their boy is being hit with some incredibly severe nerfs and even a slight ultimate rework.
Now, Rocket’s healing spheres will have a smaller healing area, meaning you’ll have to aim much closer to whoever is most in need. His jetpack will also be on a ten-second cool down, up from six seconds, and his ultimate will now give everyone a 25 percent damage boost, as opposed to 40 percent. But hey, at least his ultimate doeshealingnow - you know,like almost every other strategist ult!
Needless to say, Rocket mains are not pleased with these changes one bit. Some fear that it will just leave them heal-botting more than ever, since they’ll have to fire more shots to heal multiple teammates. Pair that with his decreased mobility, and having a Rocket on your team just got a whole lot less useful.

“I’m not a fan of taking the unique aspect of Rocket’s ult and having it be another ‘you don’t die lol’ ult,” says Reddit user GeezerCatapult. “It was the only thing I felt that allowed me to at least have fun with him when we had him on the team.”
Many others agree, with EdgyDemon_Child replying, “What makes Rocket fun to play for me is his mobility. But now they’re gutting it to turn him into more of a heal bot, the most boring aspect of his kit.”
“Nerfing the mobility is insane to me, do these devs have some kinda dive agenda?” writes Suki-the-Pthief. “They nerf Adam’s soul bond, nerf Loki’s runes and nerf Rocket’s mobility, which were all hard counters against dive.”
Of course, there’s no guarantee that these tweaks will stay in the game forever. If Rocket’s win rate or pick rate takes a huge hit, we might see him getting some buffs in a mid-season patch. For now, though, you have until April 11 to play Rocket before the nerfs come in.
