Summary
If you play aStrategistinMarvel Rivals, there’s a good chance that you’re spending the match getting dived by aSpider-Manmain. And after that, there’s a good chance you end up sounding like J. Jonah Jameson, going on about how much of a menace that webslinging freak is.
It’s even worse if he’s got the Symbiote Bondteam-upwith Venom. This lets him use the Suit Expulsion ability, which deals damage to anyone unfortunate enough to be close to you. Pair that with his regular attacks, and it’s a quick way to send Strategists back to spawn.

Now, unsurprisingly, Marvel Rivals players have had enough. Many are calling on NetEase to nerf him, at last making it so he can’t one-shot a support character - although some say it’s all just a skill issue.
Marvel Rivals Players Are Divided On Spider-Man
Hero or dangerous vigilante? Balanced or OP?
“He’s so uniquely problematic because character-wise he’s perfect, I feel like I am Spidey swinging across the map and beating up bad guys,” says Reddit user Ok-Dentist4480. “However, he’s stupidly unfun to fight. He moves at mach 100, kills your support with a bs long reach one shot combo, leaves.”
Many others agree with this sentiment, saying that fighting Spidey is taking the fun out of their matches. “As a support main who mostly plays [quick play], I am so so sick of Spider-Man. Please release me from this fresh hell,” says kaitlyn_gail. “The second he gets to half health he f**king zips away.”

“Nearly every single match I played today had a Spiderman and Venom, I am tired,” adds ARobinGaming.
However, there are some who think that Spider-Man isn’t the problem here - it’s the rest of the roster. “He doesn’t need to be nerfed. We just need more ways to deal with Dive,” argues jpott879. “There’s hardly any dedicated anti dive characters atm. There’s characters that have some anti-dive stuff but not enough to be reliable against good divers.”

In arecent balance patch, Spider-Man only received a slight buff, reducing his Web-Cluster cooldown by half a second. This does appear to have made him far more effective on the offence though, so we’ll have to wait and see if he is tweaked further in the next update.
