Summary
Marvel Rivalsplayers have been suffocated by the dive meta since the beginning of Season 2,going so far as to call a “support strike"in an attempt to either get NetEase to make changes, or get other players to give the role some respect.Captain America and Iron Fist are borderline immortalin the right hands, while healers keep getting deleted by Black Panther and Spider-Man.
Thankfully,NetEase itself addressed the issue a couple of days ago, promisingthe patch notes for this mid-season balance updatesignificant buffs for several Strategist characters to help them deal with dive characters a little better. Fast-forward to now, and the patch notes for this mid-season balance update have been released ahead of their implementation on April 30.

For starters, Captain America and Groot have had hits to their survivability, with the former getting a health reduction and the latter having a health reduction to his Ironwood Wall. Spider-Man has had his combo range nerfed, Doctor Strange will be able to use his Eye of Agamotto ultimate more often, and Bucky will have two levels of charge to his Tainted Voltage ability. Nothing wild so far, but the real changes come in the form of Strategist buffs.
Marvel Rivals Season 2 Balance Update Massively Buffs Adam Warlock
One of the biggest changes is Adam Warlock, and, in the right hands, his buffs could make him absolutely relentless on the battlefield. Rather than a straight damage buff, the cooldown on Adam Warlock’s heals will be reduced by one second for every headshot on an enemy, which is very similar to how Mantis' heals work.
In fact, it’s even better than Mantis because Adam Warlock is a hitscan character rather than projectile, meaning it’s much easier to get the odd headshot here and there. Essentially, if you have good aim, you’ll be able to heal with Adam Warlock a lot more frequently, and that’s a terrifying prospect given how much burst healing he can pump out.

Outside that, Cloak & Dagger, Mantis, and Luna Snow have all received damage increases, though the latter is just a fall off reduction at 40 meters, which means she’ll be better at poking and dealing with fliers. A great change if you often find yourself on a team full of people that love to pretend that Iron Man and Human Torch don’t exist.
