Each month, Pokemon Go changes the Pokemon that are available through these Max Battles, giving you the opportunity to obtain both new and returning Dynamax and Gigantamax Pokemon.

Max Battles, Explained
Max Battles take place at different Power Spotsfound around the Pokemon Go map, locations that will appear and disappear throughout the week. To participate in a Max Battle, it willrequire the use of Max Particles, a resource obtained in a variety of ways through the Max Battle feature.
To begin a Max Battle, you will have to selectthree Pokemon to battle with, all needing to have the ability to either Dynamax or Gigantamax.In a Max Battle, you will need to use these Pokemon to defeat a specific Dynamax or Giganatamx Pokemon, allowing your own Pokemon to undergo this transformation on the battlefield.
When a Max Battle is completed, you will earn different in-game rewards, includingberries,Rare Candy, and Revives. Additionally, you will be rewarded with anencounter with the Dynamax or Gigantamax Pokemon, having the ability to make this transformation if caught.

May 2025 Max Mondays
Every Monday in the month of May will have a Max Monday, a one-hour event centered around battling against a specific Dynamax Pokemon. Each Max Monday will take place from6pm local time to 7pm local timeon the day of the event.
During each Max Monday, you will findseveral Power Spots hosting Max Battles with the featured Dynamax Pokemon, giving you tons of chances to battle against them during the one-hour event. Below you can find each Max Monday and what Pokemon will be featured.
May 2025 Max Battle Events
Dynamax Suicune Max Battle Weekend
TheDynamax Suicune Max Battle Weekendwill take place fromSaturday, Jul 28, 2025, at 6am local time, to Sunday, July 10, 2025, at 9pm local time. During this event, you will findseveral Power Spots hosting Dynamax Suicune Max Battles.
Additionally, there will be a number of Max Battle-themed bonuses available for all players during this event, including:
There will beTimed Researchavailable to complete in the days leading up to the Dynamax Suicune Max Battle Weekend.
Make sure to complete this Timed Research to earnrewards to help you prepare for the main event.
Gigantamax Machamp Max Battle Day
They will also be hosting theGigantamax Machamp Max Battle Daythis month. This event will take place onSunday, July 12, 2025, from 2pm local time to 5pm local time.
Although details have not yet been released about this event, you can expectGigantamax Machamp to be making its debut,giving you the opportunity to battle against and obtain this Pokemon for the first time in Pokemon Go. You can also expect a collection of bonuses to accompany this event, most likely providing you with additional rewards when completing Max Battles.
If Gigantamax Machamp’s Max Battle functions like past Gigantamax Pokemon that were released, you willneed to group up with a large group of players to successfully complete this battle, requiring a tremendous amount of firepower.
