Summary

As if 2025 wasn’t stacked enoughwith major releases, including the likes ofGrand Theft Auto 6,Ghost of YōteiandDeath Stranding 2: On the Beach, the planned remake ofMetal Gear Solid 3will also release this year. Indeed,Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eaterhas beengiven an August 25 release, which isn’t too far off, all things considered.

Ahead of its release, the game’s ESRB rating has been revealed. And while it’s a no-brainer that it’s rated M for Mature, the rating does confirm the return of a rather controversial element from the original game.

The Peep Demo Theatre Will Be In The Game

As first spotted by Video Games Chronicle, Delta: Snake Eater will be rated M for Blood, Sexual Themes and Violence. That’s all rather standard fare when it comes to MGS games and M-rated games as a whole.

However, at the bottom of the rating descriptor, it’s revealed that the Peep Demo Theatre will be in the game. “A Peep Demo Theatre (allows) players to view cutscenes of a female character’s body from a first-person perspective,“reads the description.

For the uninitiated, the Peep Demo Theatre allows players to view Eva in her undergarments, and is only unlocked by beating the game four times. In it, players can move the camera around and zoom in if they so choose.

It’s a rather outdated, highly sexual and mostly unnecessary feature, though for one reason or another it’s making a return. For reference, when Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster was released last year, it removed rewards for taking risqué photos and the “Erotica” category as a whole. In other words, leaving things in the past can and has been done before.
