Xboxgamers, you’re going to want torun, not walk to this limited-time deal.Metro 2033 Reduxis 100 percentfree on the Xbox storefront, but only for a limited time.
Unlike the wholeAlan Wake debacle from March, where the game was mistakenly made free before being revoked from peoples' accounts, this game is free to own for the rest of your life, no strings attached. As of this writing, players only have two days left to claim the deal, before it’s presumably gone for good, so you’ll want to sign on and claim it, even if you don’t plan on playing it right away.

Wait, Why Is Metro 2033 Redux Free?
In case you’re wondering, Metro 2033 Redux was originally intended to be free back in April in honor of the game’s 15-year anniversary. For one reason or another, things didn’t go smoothly, so the team at 4A Games has brought back the promotion, this time without any hitches.
If, somehow, you’ve gone 15 years without touching the Metro series, then you’re in for a treat. Here’s a brief synopsis, courtesy of the Xbox store:

The year is 2033. An entire generation has been born and raised underground, and their besieged Metro Station-Cities struggle for survival; with each other, and the mutant horrors that await outside.
You are Artyom, born in the last days before the fire, but raised underground. Having never ventured beyond the city limits, one fateful event sparks a desperate mission to the heart of the Metro system, to warn the remnants of mankind of a terrible impending threat.
Your journey takes you from the forgotten catacombs beneath the subway to the desolate wastelands above, where your actions will determine the fate of mankind.
But what if the real threat comes from within?
It is arguably one of the more underrated first-person shooter franchises around, with two sequels, Last Light and Exodus, also having been released. Unfortunately, it looks likePlayStationgames are left in the dark on this one, though the package of the first two games is currently on sale for $5.99, which is beyond a steal.
