Summary

A Minecraft Movie has been a huge success, grossing well over $300 million at the box officeduring its first week. That success has been marred somewhat by some ofMinecraft’s rowdier fans, some of whom have started bringing live animals to screenings.

There’s one scene, in particular, that has been riling up Minecraft fans ever since it was teased in one of the movie’s trailers - the Chicken Jockey scene. When a baby zombie drops onto a chicken, Jack Black yells Chicken Jockey, and in a lot of Minecraft Movie screenings, fans yell it along with him. However, Chicken Jockey fever has gripped some fans a little too hard with screenings erupting into chaos as popcorn is thrown and yes, in at least one instance, someone has brandished a live chicken.

The incident has quickly gone viral and was filmed from at least two different angles, implying most of the moviegoers in the screening were very aware of the chaos that would ensue during the Chicken Jockey scene. Almost everyone in the cinema starts celebrating as Black says the line, but the focus is the fan in the middle wearing a Creeper mask.

A Group Of Minecraft Fans Took A Chicken To The Cinema

Please, Don’t Do This

The fan proudly holds a chicken in the air as people around them celebrate, quickly getting the person whose shoulders they’re sitting on to put them down when the movie abruptly stops and the lights go up.DiscussingFilmhas shared what appears to be a video from someone in the group that brought the chicken into the theater as it begins with them outlining their plan, and then ends with the reveal that they were, unsurprisingly, asked to leave the cinema following the chicken stunt.

This will go without saying for most of you reading this, but don’t take a live chicken to the cinema with you. Above all else, it’s a pretty cruel thing to do, and while I can only speculate on this part, it seems likely the chicken was drugged in some way. I’m unsure how those who brought it in would have kept it calm until a scene that happens over halfway through the movie otherwise.

If you are planning to go and see A Minecraft Movie this week, while it’s unlikely anyone in your screening will have a chicken with them, be prepared for some of your fellow cinema patrons to get overexcited. Not only for the Chicken Jockey scene, but also when Black says Flint and Steel. To think,we could have had Matt Berry delivering those Minecraft clichés.
