Summary
Complaints aboutMonster Hunter Wilds' performance and optimization have been prevalent since the beta test. Despite being themost successful game that Capcom ever put out, fans wereunhappy with the state it was released in. Subsequent patches managed to lighten the load, but reports of optimization issues and crashes even on high-end systems still kept trickling in.
It was clear that Capcom needed to put out a major update in order to address these issues, and Title Update 1 was considered to be that update. Along with anew monster, a Grand Hub, and more, fans hoped that the update would fix the issues that the game has been plagued with. However, it seems things have only gotten worse since the update went live.

Title Update 1 May Have Made Monster Hunter Wild’s Performance Worse Somehow
While the number of reports of the game and even PCs crashing have increased, the concerning part is that the reasons seem to vary. Some players have been complaining about thegame crashing just after booting up, while others have reported that itcrashes a few minutes into a quest.
Some reports are quite specific, claiming that the game crashes when players attempt to trade items with Sekka. This particular case is theonly one that Capcom has acknowledged. I personally have been suffering PC crashing issues a few minutes after booting up the game, even while simply sitting on the main menu. This was before the update and persists after it too. Mind, I already had 45 hours in the game before this started happening.

Looking for fixes at the moment is like looking for a needle in a haystack, as forums have been suggesting a myriad of fixes, like using a wired controller, going back to older versions of drivers, updating my PC bios, dabbling with the game files, and even using mods.
What’s adding to the frustration is that thepatch notes for Title Update 1only mention one fix for crashing issues, and that’s for when you block a Gravios attack. That’s one hell of an attack.

The sheer number of crash reports, along with varying instances, is troubling for those who want to get on with the game or check out the new content, as it’s going to take longer to put out a fix for all of them. Hopefully, Capcom is already working on something.
