Capcomhas been pretty straightforward when it comes to the content pipeline ofMonster Hunter Wilds. In itsfirst big title updatesince launch, the game will receive an all new Grand Hub area, a new monster called Mizutsune, and a High Rank Zoh Shia hunt. Post that, the game will be graced by the Arch-Tempered Rey Dau and the Festival of Accord: Blossomdance event.
However, it seems some fans in Japan think Capcom is teasing the return of a dreaded monster in the Title Update 1 reveal. No, it’s not Nergigante. It’s something much more dangerous. Long time fans of the series will know that if there’s one monster in the entire series that absolutely hates the Hunter species, it’s the White Fatalis from Monster Hunter 2 and 4 Ultimate.
The White Beam Of Light May Return
The theory is based on elements from the Title Update 1 reveal video which starts off with a Wyverian songstress in white robes, followed by the reveal of the Grand Hub, where you may see some familiar characters. It seems several key things in this video have ledmotoikaon Reddit to believe that the White Fatalis may soon come to the game.
Firstly, they’ve pointed out that Zoh Shia, the low rank boss, has many elements that are reminiscent of the Fatalis. The red lightning in particular is a signature of the White Fatalis. Next, the video reveals the return of The Legendary Artisan, who, in Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, tells you about the White Fatalis in an episodic quest.
However, the Wyverian in white may be the biggest hint. As pointed out by motoika, the event quest for the White Fatalis in MH4U is called A White Beam of Light, and is given to you by a girl in white. It has long been theorised by fans in Japan that this girl was actually the White Fatalis itself, giving you the quest as a challenge.
They further noted that, “with the first confirmation of the resonance phenomenon between Elder Dragons and Wyverians in MHR, a new theory has emerged suggesting that the girl in the white dress might be a Wyverian who resonated with White Fatalis. As a result, there is speculation that the songstress revealed in Free Title Update 1 could be the same girl in the white dress, or possibly someone who might take on that role in the future. Some even speculate that her closed eyes might be red.”
It seems there are quite a few hints pointing at the return of the White Fatalis. While Capcom has revealed nothing about it, it may be a surprise for long time fans of the series.
