Summary
For the last few days, those who live inthe United Kingdom and Europe have been able to pre-ordertheirNintendo Switch 2consoles, games, and accessories through the official Nintendo store. Unfortunately, despite initially being slated for the same time as their European counterparts,pre-orders were delayed in the United States and Canadadue to President Trump’s now-delayed tariffs.
With the tariffs now officially paused for 90 days, the North American Nintendo store has seemingly given away the date the pre-order invites will be sent out, and there’s still quite a wait.

Nintendo Switch 2 Pre-Order Dates For The United States And Canada Revealed
In a frequently asked questions segment on the “Register your interest"pagefor the Switch 2 (viaGameranx), Nintendo has shared that invites will go out starting on May 8. It said:
The first batch of invitations will go out starting July 31, 2025, with additional batches of invitation emails sent periodically until purchasing on My Nintendo Store is opened to everyone.

Those looking to buy from the My Nintendo Store will face similar hurdles to those across the globe, with Nintendo stating, “Priority requirements are as follows: As of 07-05-2025, you must have been the one who purchased any Nintendo Switch Online membership, you must have had any paid Nintendo Switch Online membership for a minimum of 12 months, and you must have opted in to share gameplay data and have at least 50 hours total gameplay hours,” adding that “Initial invitation emails will be delivered on a first-come, first-serve basis to eligible registrants who meet the priority criteria.”
With the Nintendo Switch 2 releasing on June 5, the North American pre-order window is open for less than a month. It’s a less-than-ideal scenario for the company, which has already faced harsh backlash for the way the Switch 2 is being propositioned.
The console is seen as being relatively expensive, withsome countries expected to pay $150 more than the rest of the world, and Nintendo’s variable software pricing strategy hascaused mass confusion among prospective buyers.
