It Might Be Easier To Get A Nintendo Switch 2 Than You Think

In a post on social media, Nintendeal, an account that shares Nintendo news, as well as information on gaming deals and products, revealed that in speaking with sources at GameStop, stores are expecting around 100 Switch 2 consoles at launch.

At the same time, while the console will be, in theory, easy to come by, it looks like accessories and games won’t be, as they are being called, “extremely limited.” As to what specifically of the available launch items will be limited is unclear.

Back in July,Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa shared that the company is confident in its ability to meet the demand of gamers, specifically due to the resolution of semiconductor shortages. Then, in early January, it was revealed that the companyis prepared to sell as many as 20 million Switch 2 consoles in its first year. For reference, the original Switch sold 15 million units in its first year.

In other words, it seems like Nintendo has been preparing for this moment, hoping to avoid a situation where scalpers have control over the supply. Now it just remains to be seen when customers outside the EU can preorder.
