Summary

Without any marketing, and shadowdropping on a random Tuesday,Oblivion Remasteredhas proven to be a huge hit. Granted,we knew about its existence through a whole lot of leaks, but it’s still a game that went live while it was being announced, showing just how many people were eager to explore this fan-favouriteElder Scrollsgame.

Now, we have a better idea of just how successful it’s been.Bethesdahas revealed that Oblivion Remastered has amassed four million players across all platforms so far. It’s unclear how many of these are sales and how many are those playing through Xbox Game Pass, but either way, this is a huge win for Bethesda and Virtuos.

To Little Surprise, Oblivion Remastered Is A Huge Success

This momentum isn’t slowing down just yet. Oblivion Remastered’s concurrent player record on Steam is 190,119, and that was set three days ago. Right now, there are 140,767 people playing the game on the platform, so there’s a very real chance that this record will be broken over the weekend, as more people have the time to sit down and return to Cyrodiil.

Perhaps most importantly, this is a huge multiplatform win for Xbox, after it had previously made games such as this exclusive to PC and its own consoles. With that in mind, we can probably expect other Bethesda games to also launch on PlayStation, althoughwe’re still waiting for Starfield to make the leap.
