Summary

A random update that’s been made to theMarvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classicshas sparked some new hope forMarvel vs. Capcom 4, even if it might just be more hopium.

Over the past few years,Capcomhas been on quite a winning streak with almost all of its games, which has given it a lot more room to experiment with older series and bring them back for a new audience. Despite having three incredible games,Marvel vs. Capcom has mostly been left to rest after the failure of Infinite, but there have been some signs of life in the past few years. The biggest of these was last year’s release of Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics, which rounded up the older games and finally made them playable again.

Oh God, Marvel Vs. Capcom Fans Are Hoping For A Fourth Game Again

It’s Not The First Time Capcom Has Left Little Hints, Though

Arcade Classics seemed like a one-and-done deal that showed how much interest there was in Marvel vs. Capcom, but it looks like there’s a little more to it than that. Two days ago,a random Title Update was announced for the collection, months after its last update all the way back in October of last year.

The update adds some well-needed changes to the games, such as an offline versus mode, but that’s not the really interesting part.As pointed out by fighting game YouTuber Maximilian Dood, the collection also added some interesting new things to the museum. The first thing of note arefournew songs, which I probably don’t have to explain the excitement for.

Some fans have pointed out that Capcom has previously hidden hints in collections that tease the future, such as the Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 having a tease for Mega Man 11.

The songs themselves don’t really have any hints towards Marvel vs. Capcom 4, but the fact there are four of them does seem like a nod. Alongside the new music tracks,a new piece of art from series artist Shinkiro was released which seems to represent all of the eras of Marvel vs. Capcom, including Spider-Man who looks straight out of MvC3.

Again, the art doesn’t seem to specifically be shouting Marvel vs. Capcom 4 at anyone, but Maximilian Dood have taken it as hopium that Capcom has faith in the series and is still actively working on a collection that didn’t really need anything else.Across Reddit and Max’s video, fans are also taking it as a nice sign of the future, even if others think they’re “gaslighting” themselves.
