WithThe Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remasternow officially in the wild, following years of leaks and rumors. Despite its seemingly successful launch, though, one segment of the Elder Scrolls community is demanding more.
Having seen just how good the Oblivion remaster looks, theMorrowindfaithful are putting their force behind calls toBethesda, begging for a remaster of the 2002 classic.

The Elder Scrolls Community Is Already Ready For A Morrowind Remaster Similar To Oblivion
Following the announcement of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, the Morrowind army came out in force, staking their claim for Bethesda’s 2002 hit to be the next major Elder Scrolls remaster.
Threads across multiple Elder Scrolls-focused subreddits have been gaining traction with calls for a Morrowind Remaster. One, which was created following the announcement teaser, quickly garnered over 13,000 upvotes, with almost 300 comments, and many others have earned thousands more upvotes between them.
“I would love it for them to remake Morrowind and its expansions/DLC, but make it the size they originally wanted to, where it was a massive map and including the mainland beyond the capital,” saidMinMaxRex.
The calls for a Morrowind remaster stretched further than just the Reddit communities, too, with members of the games industry, like Larian Studios' director of publishing, Michael Douse, having their say.
Despite the calls, there is plenty of scepticism from large sections of the Morrowind community that a remaster would do the game a disservice. “I feel like a remake would change so much of what makes Morrowind what it is. I have a hard time believing they would keep the core mechanics of the game,” saidSea_Hunter7344.Xedethadded, “Morrowind exists in an old generation of gamers that the vast majority of people younger than 30 will simply not enjoy. A remaster will either change nothing and sell like s**t to only the niche community that we are, or it will piss off the purists while selling fantastically.”
Any hopes of an imminent Morrowind remaster can probably be parked for now anyway as, according to the same leak that revealed the Oblivion remaster’s existence,Fallout 3 is the next remaster on Bethesda’s docket.
