Asfirst reported on by MP1stand as sharedoriginally by Twitter user and gaming insider, eXtas1s, a new survey is trying to better understand how fans feel about the Switch 2.

The five-question survey asks users how interested they are in purchasing the Switch 2, the aspects that most interest them about the console and the motivating factors that would push them to purchase one.

Perhaps most interesting is the final question, which asks users: “What do you think about the Switch 2 pre-order approach?”

For those unaware,Nintendo is requiring that fans first register their interest in purchasing a Switch 2. From there, those who’ve had a Nintendo Switch Online membership for 12 consecutive months, plus at least 50 hours of gameplay on their original Switch, will be given priority consideration.

It’s a rather unique approach, one that will no doubt prevent scalpers from scooping up whatever supply is available. At the same time, though, it does penalize those who do not have a NSO membership, but have exceeded the amount of hours of playtime required. Ultimately, whether Sony wants to potentially implement something similar whenever the next PlayStation releases, or whether the company is simply trying to better understand consumer behavior, remains to be seen.
