Summary

Pokemonalready has so many plush types that they’re almost impossible to keep track of, let alone collect. Good news and bad news on that front as it has just revealed the first plushes in what is effectively a spinoff of a pre-existing range. That’s the bad news. The good news is they’re all adorable and you’re probably going to want to buy ‘em all.

Pokemon has kicked off its Furry Friends collection with five plushes, and they’re all available now.Growlithe, Rockruff, Yamper, Fidough, and Lillipup, so all dog or dog adjacent Pokemon. Seems that’s the theme for the collection so far, and Pokemon certainly has plenty of other dog-like Pokemon it can bring into the fold if this is going to be a range it builds on in the future.

Plush collectors have alreadynoted on the r/pokeplush subredditthat the new Furry Friends appear to bevery similar to the Comfy Friends plushesPokemon has been selling for a while. Not only is the new quintet similar to the Comfy Friends options in terms of size and price, but they also seem to be slightly softer and fluffier than a standard Pokemon plush, just like the Comfy Friends collection.

Pokemon Center’s Furry Friends plushes are very similar to its Comfy Friends collection, the key difference being all of its stars are dog Pokemon. Pokemon has kicked off the Furry Friends collection with five options, all of the designs based on creations that have clearly been inspired by dogs.

The Furry Friends aren’t the only new plushes Pokemon has added to the US Pokemon Center this week. It has alsoadded some new designs to its Buddy plush collection. Pokemon’s buddy plushes feature a ‘mon holding either a little friend or a companion item of some sort. The new Kangaskhan plush, for example, is holding the baby it carries around in its pouch, while the Chansey plush is holding its egg.

All of this week’s new additions follow in the tiny plush footsteps ofthe expansion Pokemon’s Support Pairs collectionreceived this month. Arguably the most adorable plush idea Pokemon has had to date, Support Pairs feature two Pokemon connected via a pullstring so that when they get separated, they slowly make their way back to one another, returning to the hug pose they started in.
