Summary
Pokemon TCG Pockethas, perhaps unsurprisingly, been a mega hit. New sets and booster packs added within the game’s first five months have kept the virtual card game feeling fresh, and starting later this week, its fans will be able to pick up items from the first official merch line dedicated toPokemon’s latest hit.
Revealed last week, Pokemon is releasing physical items spun from Pocket’s success, all of which will beadded to the Japanese Pokemon Center on April 3before popping up in physical Pokemon Centers two days later (thanks,PokeBeach). The line has only been confirmed for release in Japan so far, but considering the worldwide success of Pocket, it seems almost inevitable the line will be rolled out in the US and elsewhere eventually.

The headliners in Pocket’s new merch range are the dioramas of the game’s immersive rares. Pokemon TCG Pocket can do something the regular card game can’t do, and that’s animate its cards. The game kicked off with three immersive rares for virtual collectors to try and find featuring its first set’s Genetic Apex cover stars - Pikachu, Mewtwo, and Charizard.
Pokemon Is Releasing Merch Tied To TCG Pocket
Headlined By Dioramas Of Its Original Immersive Rares
The novelty of immersive rares is that players can hold their finger on them and the cards become animated. That’s obviously not possible with the real thing, however,Pokemon has turned Pocket’s original three immersive rares into dioramas. The collectibles are layered so that they can feature all of the elements on show in Pocket’s animated cards, making it seem as if you are being taken on the same journey that the cards take you in the game.
There’s a lot more to Pocket’s first merch drop than just immersive rare dioramas. The game’s pack hourglass has been turned into a keychain, the perfect reminder that you’ve got some to use and should open an additional pack rather than waiting to be reminded of the two free ones you get each day.

The collection also featuresa bag with the artwork from the Pikachu immersive rare printed on the inside, and clear plastic cases that come with Pocket-thrmed accessories to fill them with. The case can be made to look like any of the three Genetic Apex boosters to make it look like a real-life Pocket pack along with various coins and emblems from the game.
While Pocket’s physical merch kicks off with the Genetic Apex packs we’ve been opening for five months, the game itself recently added a new booster pack - Shining Revelry. The pack adds shiny Pokemon to the game for the first time andhas introduced two new rarities to the game.
