With new sets and packs coming our way thick and fast duringPokemon TCG Pocket’s first six months, there are already a lot of cards to collect. Some of those cards have been exclusively available through drop events, and if you want the five newest cards added to Pocket, you’re able to start trying to get them right now.
Pokemon Pocket’s Pawmot Drop event has begun and, as is commonplace for these events, there are five cards to collect of varying rarities. The most sought-after card in volume six of the game’s first promo series isa Pawmot illustration rare. The second rarest card isa three-diamond Machamp, and rounding out this set of promo cards arethree one-diamond cards starring Ekans, Bidoof, and Floatzel.

Getting your hands on promo cards from these series is a little different from how you get the rest of your cards in your Pocket collection, and how you approach the game will determine whether that’s a good thing or a bad thing. You can only get these cards by battling against the game’s AI. Plus, your chosen difficulty level will determine how likely you are to be rewarded with a promo pack.
There’s a roughly one in two chance of being rewarded with a promo pack, and those odds get increasingly better until you hit expert difficulty, which guarantees you a promo pack, provided you win the battle. Each promo pack includes one card, and naturally, the rarer the card, the less likely it will be to appear in your promo pack.

Getting that illustration rare Pawmot isn’t going to be easy. Once you’ve managed to get your virtual hands on a promo pack, there will then bea 12.66 percent chance the card inside is the one-star rarity Pawmot. The odds of the promo pack’s card beinga three-star Machamp are 15.82 percent, andeach one-diamond card has a 23.84 percent chanceof showing up.
The Pawmot promo event is live now andwill come to an end in ten days at 01:59 est on July 15, 2025. That means you need to get to battling if you want all five cards, particularly that Pawmot. As has been the case with the cards handed out in the previous five drop events, this will be the only way to get these promo cards, and once the event is over, you’ll have missed your chance. You can’t even trade promo cards yet, so no groveling to your annoying friend who manages to pack six of those Pawmot.
