Summary
Ever since the release of the admittedly excellentPrince of Persia: The Lost Crown, it’s been nothing but bad news for fans of the series. Not only did Ubisoftreject a sequel to The Lost Crown- one of the best Prince of Persia games in well over a decade - but it alsocompletely disbanded the team behind it.
The upcomingPrince of Persia: Sands of Timeremake is just about the only scrap of hope left that Prince of Persia fans have, but troubled development anda vague release window of 2026doesn’t inspire much confidence. Thankfully, Ubisoft seems to be a lot more confident that it can meet the window this time around, and has actually narrowed down exactly when the game will launch.

Prince of Persia: Sands Of Time Remake To Seemingly Launch In Early 2026
In Ubisoft’s latest earnings report, shared by Twitter user Okami13, Ubisoft reveals the games it expects to help the company financially throughout the current fiscal year, which will end on Jun 27, 2025. Ubisoft expects to have a decent year thanks to the release ofAssassin’s Creed Shadowsandthe upcoming Rainbow Six Siege X.
It also states that it expects other titles like Anno 117: Pax Romana and - most importantly - Prince of Persia: Sands of Time to help boost its net bookings for the fiscal year. That confirms that Ubisoft expects the Sands of Time remake to launch within the fiscal year, meaning it’s coming before March 31. Throw in the already announced 2026 release window, and we get a clearer picture of exactly when Sands of Time is slated to release.

It seems pretty nailed on that Ubisoft expects Sands of Time to launch in either January, February, or March 2026, though there is always the possibility of a delay. Thankfully, it doesn’t appear as though Sands of Time was caught up in the recent pipeline shuffle, asUbisoft pushed some of its “biggest productions” back to 2026 and 2027thanks to the positive impact of the delay to Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
It’s still possible that Sands of Time could be delayed again though, especially given how troubled development has been over the past few years, but it’s nice for Prince of Persia fans to get a bit of good news for once.
