Summary
The Blue-Eyes White Dragon is one of the most iconic monsters in all ofYu-Gi-Oh!. This is because of its early anime presence and plot importance among Kaiba’s cards. Even the anime’s logic of only four existing in the world helps elevate the card’s status, even if in the real world there are countless copies.
Not every Blue-Eyes White Dragon is the same. This vanilla monster has plenty of different art depictions. Some pair up the master and monster together, while others give players a more familiar appearance. Which version of the Blue-Eyes White Dragon is the best?

8Roaring Blue-Eyes White Dragon
Ready To Strike
Some would argue that this is the worst version of the Blue-Eyes White Dragon. It is also one of the more common ones to see ever since its first printing in Legend of Blue-Eyes. This card’s art feels straight out of the 90s with more realistic features that mix with the anime art style. Every monster in this time period has that dark and grungy look to it.
This rendition of the Blue-Eyes looks like it is ready to attack. Its teeth are sharp and visible from its snarl while its claws are moving closer towards you. So while it is one of the least favorable Blue-Eyes that doesn’t mean it’s bad at all.

7Stone Tablet Blue-Eyes White Dragon
An Ancient Story
The Yu-Gi-Oh! storyline in the manga and the anime includes an ancient tablet that tells the history of the game. In this particular tablet, an ancient duel is played between the Pharaoh Atem and Priest Seto. On one side,Atem wields the Dark Magician. On the other, Seto calls upon the power of the Blue-Eyes White Dragon.
This card isn’t half bad due to that nod to the storyline. However, it is one that gets plenty of reprints, while other cards don’t get the same treatment. Regardless, this card art makes the Blue-Eyes White Dragon seem as ancient as it is depicted in the anime.

6White Lightning Attack Blue-Eyes White Dragon
Blue-Eyes On Top Of The Planet
The Blue-Eyes White Dragon feels overlaid in front of the Earth in this card rendition. It is similar to the tablet art but without the ancient stone as the backdrop. Instead, you have Blue-Eyes White Dragon in space. This isn’t the only printing to have it depicted this way, but this is the one that does it a bit worse.
It is not really flying, but standing still as it charges its white lightning attack. Without any dynamic poses, it mostly just looks static in the position that it is in. Perhaps even spread wings would have done this card justice.

5Skyscraper Blue-Eyes White Dragon
When The Moon Rises And Blue-Eyes Roars
A Blue-Eyes perched on top of the tallest building in the city is not something you see every day. However, it is the most logical place for this monster to make a home for itself. Now, if only this skyscraper had the Kaiba Corporation logo somewhere on it to make it feel even more at home.
This version of the Blue-Eyes White Dragon isn’t half bad. However, some would say that it is not incredibly detailed as far as Blue-Eyes cards go. This portrayal makes it seem like it could be the dragon itself or a silvery metallic statue of the legendary monster. Either way, having the moon in the background is a nice little added detail to set the tone.

4Blue-Eyes White Dragon In Space
Card Art Is Out Of This World
The Blue-Eyes White Dragon is known for being one of the most fearsome creatures on the planet. In fact, this version of the card depicts it in outer space, therefore becoming the most powerful in the galaxy. There are many different planets in the background as the Blue-Eyes soars through space.
Out of all the Blue-Eyes cards forthe original vanilla monster, this one comes close to feeling like the most elegant. Every other printing makes the monster look like it’s ready to bite, claw, or blast you into submission. This is one of the few that give it an environment to thrive in.

3Blue-Eyes White Dragon In The Light
Coming Down From Heaven Itself
There is nothing like seeing such a majestic dragon such as the Blue-Eyes descending from the sky and onto the field. Tribute Summon it or Special Summon it using a different card, and you may just imagine the kind of animation it would have if the holograms of the anime were real. That’s what it feels like every time you play this specific printing of the card.
Interestingly enough, this is one of the few versions of the Blue-Eyes White Dragon where the fearsome monster is actually depicted as white instead of having more of a bluish tint. So if you’re looking for a version of the card that is true to its name, then this is the perfect one for you.

2Kaiba And His Blue-Eyes White Dragon
The Most Powerful Duo
Kaiba and his Blue-Eyes White Dragon make for an unstoppable duo. If you want your deck to reflect the power of one of the greatest duelists in the Yu-Gi-Oh! anime, then this is the printing that you want to show off. This card depicts Seto Kaiba getting ready to play a card. Behind him is the Blue-Eyes White Dragon charging up its attack.
This is a fantastic printing that will satisfy Kaiba fans everywhere. It’s also one of the few cards that actually depicts characters from the anime. This makes it extra special when lining it up side by side with the rest of the Blue-Eyes White Dragon cards.

1Anime Blue-Eyes White Dragon
The Fan-Favorite Printing
The anime version of the Blue-Eyes White Dragon is considered the best. Not only is this the one that Kaiba has in his own deck, but the design is timeless. This version proves that you don’t need an elaborate card backdrop to look good.
With perfect circular waves in the background and Blue-Eyes tilting its head to the side, you can see the dragon’s entire body on the design. It’s the cleanest art style and the most nostalgic, with higher rarity versions such as the ghost rare looking exceptionally well. The style is also perfect at replicating the monster that was originally depicted on the ancient tablet.
